They know we are absolutely depressed and that most of us have no soltuions, so why do they want us to live, qualifying us of cowards or attention whores ? I understand that there are selfish or idealistic people who want to keep happiness everywhere, but its not possible :/

I don't understand either. Most people are sheep and can't think for themselves, so just go along with what others are doing, even if they don't have any logical reason for it.

Why are prisoners kept on ctb watch as well? They are happy for them to suffer in their cells but the moment they try to ctb, they will do everything they can to try to stop it.

It has always been like this. Historically, suicide has been rejected and considered something of sinners or cowards. I think it's because they're so focused on how good life is or they think about how we're wasting our only chance to live. Or just selfishness. Who knows.

Read the post about families talking about suicide. I commented about this exact thing. People are selfish. Period. Any act we do, is selfish.

I think its because governments don't want to be considered as responsibles of prisonners' suicides. It wouldn't be well seen.

Oh ? A guy told me that suicide wasn't a bad thing in antic greece. Yes i think that life is great for some people, so they can't even imagine life that can be so hard that people just want to end it. Maybe they think that we are too sensitive.

They want to abuse you for their interests. Being a worker for their system and a consumer for their products. That's one side, there are other sides but share the same selfishness. They only care about themselves, their groups or corporations or whatever..

Also They don't want to get hurt because of missing someone but they want the person to live in hell.

Because the decision is final and we might not be thinking rationally.

Some selfishness as they don't want to feel sad that we're gone and probably also their own fear of death influences how they feel toward someone they care about dying.

My more cynical take on this is that, if people could check out, easily, without some kind of approval of an oversight committee, society would be in serious trouble. The Call of the Void is strong, only denial keeps many people going. If you could die, well, anyone could.

Certainly, I can understand the concern that some impulsive child might simply scamper into a suicide booth, quarter in hand, or that people fear that the elderly would be manipulated and pushed into the choice.

Overall, though, I sometimes wonder if so many of the people against suicide fear that they could not stop themselves if it were available. If we can do it, they can, too.

I've been reading a book about this Japanese samurai lately. It had a lot of Japanese terms I didn't understand and had to research. One of these terms were "seppuku" or "hara kiri." It was a way for samurai to restore honor to themselves if they were defeated or were disobedient, or to show loyalty to their master is he was defeated and killed. Samurai often had the chance to commit seppuku instead of being executed. Seppuku wasn't shamed, it was honored. Samurai wore a white kimono, wrote a death poem, and used one of their swords (sacred to the samurai) to disembowel themselves. Often the samurai had a second, a close friend or relative, to partially decapitate them after the cut was made to make a quicker death. I think about this a lot. Why must suicide be shamed? We put down dogs who are in pain, but refuse to let humans do the same to ourselves. Ask any feminist, they'll say "My body, my choice" concerning matters like abortion or modesty or gender or anything along those lines. Why shouldn't the same go for suicide? It's my life, not yours. I should have the choice to end it if I decide I don't want it.

Because it causes significant damage to the system.

Check it out:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5061092/

society should just face that our society isn't really working, instead of demonizing the suicidal. Half the cost probably comes from it being demonized, the police involvement, being sectioned, etc... Loss of productivity is a factor but we can't obligate people to be our work horses.

They want to keep us alive so that we keep working/buying/spending so that their never ending wealth will continue to grow. So they make the only way out sound taboo and unorthodox and will do anything in their power to stop people from trying. If suicide was available to everyone a lot of companies would lose a lot of money.

Some people are religious so they fear that we'd end up in hell.
The government promotes pro life to keep us in this life as miserable wage slaves who will serve them.
But for ordinary people, it is the fear of death and the good intended selfishness, which stems from losing someone important.

The government needs tax slaves. U might as well be a walking price tag in the eyes of the state. The state doesn't care wether u are a producer or dependent on the system as long as you're in one of those two brackets. If u aren't in either bracket u have no right to exist and u can end up in jail for it bc the government then sees you as a pile of worthless doodoo.

Another asinine thing about this is that if you are deemed unproductive and/or a leech, people will despise you yet still don't want you to exercise your right to die if those are your wishes.

You just can't win at this fucking rigged game if you weren't born super ambitious or talented. (Many don't think so,but genetics also play a role in the development of a hard working, persevering, and ambitious personality. Many just aren't born with that)

Well in the past even people who weren't talented, lucky, super hard working, etc. You still had intrinsic value as a human being and could afford to live without the government controlling u. Now people are much more vulnerable than decades ago.
