Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hi there, maybe few know the webcomic Lookism and the trope in fantasy genre stories when people switch bodies (for example girl ∞ boy, seen in Kim Possible).

Since I was a child, I always wanted to swap bodies too, with someone who has more privileges. Even today I hope I could have the body of Chance Perez or Jannik Schümann. Both look stunning and have a great slightly below average life. They are loved for their body. I always wanted to know how this feels to be loved.

But another body I would be is a western jackdaw, or bearded vulture. Both are pretty birds and they find a way easier way to survive than humans imo. Bearded vultures have in Bayern (ge/de/) a national park and humans care for them.

if people love you for your body then it has nothing to do with love

Body swap never would work the way you think it would... it never even works that way in fictional movies. This is one of the rare things that fiction kind of mostly gets right.

Poor dude switches bodies with a rich/popular dude... the poor dude in the popular body enjoys things at first, but once the novelty wears off realizes he can't keep up with it and realizes people don't really know him because he just took over some dude's life and they didn't notice, because they didn't really like the rich dude... so poor dude in rich dude body is again depressed and realizes he is still alone and the wealth doesn't help.

Meanwhile, rich dude in poor body has culture shock at first and it's rough... but then realizes he is getting a break from all the people who were only using him... and he eventually goes about making a new life for himself.

In the end, both kind of settle into what their lives used to be, in the new bodies... then they switch back to their original bodies and kind of just go back to business as usual. If the switch was permanent it would just have been the same as they adapted and revealed who they are inside... and the switch back just put them back in their places.

Looks do matter... circumstances matter... but a magic body swap doesn't make you suddenly someone else just because people might see you differently. It would all level out in the end one way or the other.

If you want a swap for a day or a week or something, then sure... but beyond that, it wouldn't fix your life.

Sometimes, I wish I could swap bodies with a woman. I've sometimes wondered if I would have got more attention from others if I was a girl.
