I'm a 21 year old community college student (dropped out of my state school due to just not being able to deal with college and will maybe transfer somewhere else later but also don't know if I'll be able to deal.) I went to a small private high school and graduated 2 years ago. I work at like an adventure place currently and am around people for about 8 hours a day maybe 3 times a week (which doesn't be make my life any less miserable because I have my own social issues to deal with there and old friends who of course now hate me etc..utter isolation even in one of the most social places.) Anyway, who will find out about my death? Will my old high school classmates get a notification that an alumni died? And will my coworkers find out? And will they know it's a suicide?
I'm very serious about ending my life, it's just a matter of time. I'm curious about what's going to happen after the fact. Or will nobody really have any idea except my family.
Thanks

From my experience, the college will send out an e-mail to all students, alerting them to the death of another student, with such things as the name, and a notification about the school's counseling services. Although, that could just be certain schools, I know that when I went to uni, there were about three people that killed themselves in the dorms, and I got an e-mail each time. Typically anyone who reads the newspaper will also know, as families tend to put obituaries in the paper. Of course, there will likely be people talking about it on social media as well. Depending on your family, and their attitude towards suicide, they may publicly state some other means of death, while official documentation may say another. Its very hard anymore to leave no trace of your passing in this cruel world.

Word gets round so they will probably find out even if your family keep it to themselves. Why do you care what they think? You'll be dead and free.
