I hate my life. I hate society. I hate these modern times. You are always tracked: Facial recognition technology. Automated Licence Plate Recognition. Online government spying. Stupid political groups like LGBTQSRT (whatever), Black Lives Matter, the coronavirus mask endorsers, whatever else there is. Life is just an endless rat race for money: a stupid number.

I work in construction. I go to my job, work very long hours, come home, drink and eat, then go to sleep, and the cycle repeats. There is a weekend I have off, to go and do some activities, but that is it. Work, weekend, work, weekend. All to accomplish a fucking useless concept: Money (a useless number that us humans invented). I spend this number (money) at retail outlets, grocery stores, then I go back to work, make wages, buy stuff, and the cycle repeats.

Life is just work and have the odd time off. Not to mention you are always spied on and tracked. Life is not what it used to be. No wonder why people get depressed and kill themselves! Just take a look around you: Too many rules. Too many regulations. People go to jail over the stupidest things. Human society is just messed these days, and I fucking absolutely HATE IT!

I want to break the cycle: I want to leave my job, leave my residence, and go off the grid and leave society indefinitely. The purpose of this post is to find people who also live in Canada who wish to join me. I have a motor vehicle and am fully capable of driving province-across-province to pick you up and what not. If you are serious about this, give me your phone number and we will talk and figure out how and when we leave society.

I mean, if you are depressed as I am and want to kill yourself, why not just try leaving society instead of killing yourself? By killing yourself, you would have never accomplished the adventure that we can have. Adventure is what human beings were meant for. Not working for fucking useless wages as societal slaves. If you want adventure and live in Canada (or fuck it. Even want to move here), hit me up and I will pick you up ANYWHERE in Canada (may take a few days depending on how far away you live), and we will do what humans were meant to do. We will get out of our comfort zones.

Unless you want to stay in your comfort zone and accomplish nothing significant as a human, and have no adventure. That's fine, too. But if you just took that initiative to join me, you will be telling your future grandchildren how leaving this crappy society changed your life in its entirety...

Sounds good on paper. I've had similar thoughts over the years. But it's doubtful leaving society will do much for us. Still need money. Still need shelter, food and clothing. Not to mention, such a life as you described would quickly get boring AF. Life is inherently boring. No matter where you are. Just my 2 cents. Also, what if you do find someone to do this with? And then y'all end up hating each other? FuckML

I might be tempted if you drove an ice cream truck and had a lost puppy.

I would join you and fly to Canada.
But I have become too domesticated and dependent on society and its infrastructure.
One of the my main reasons to ctb.
I might be able to fix some bugs on the computer but I wouldn't even know how to start a fire in the wild let alone keeping warm over the winter without central heating..

The are many communities all over the world that do exactly what you are taking about: living off the grid in remote locations, organic farming, permaculture and so on.
They accept new people according to their requirements

I can just imagine what kind of hippies and sjws and riffraff would end up there. I want a normal life or death, thank you very much.

I don't feel like adventuring for a very long time already, maybe since childhood. I don't even want to do laundry, cleaning dishes, dealing with rust, mold, fixing stuff... things that require my attention in the modern world. The life you talk about may be cool for some, not for everyone, and definitely not for me. Like with swimming, it's better to do as a superman than a cripple, all other things being equal. Same with life.

As Alexander Supertramp learned, it's not so easy.

I don't know what your concept of leaving society constitutes, but society is everywhere; I say that as a Canadian who spent almost all my twenties living rogue in over ten different countries in different "societies" from farms in Guatemala, alone in refuge in Northern Myanmar/western China, downtown Bangkok, huts in Filipino islands...

Anywhere you go, there you are. Anywhere you go uses money. Anywhere you try to live you need supplies and other people to help you. You need structure and people to share life with.

There really isn't anything wrong with society and we've done a pretty good job, compared to the people who live in swamp huts just outside the Yangon airport. The american dream is alright - have a family, somewhere to call home, and surround yourself with loved ones. That's a good goal to have to live a fulfilling life.

Where can I find such communities?

I can't help wondering if we'd all end up hating and turning against each other.

I rely too much on medication for this, haha. I need medication for migraines or asthma or I won't be able to function. I'll be a slave to scoiety my whole life :(

I'd come join you but I'm imprisoned in the choices I've made in order to fit in. I still don't fit in. Everyone is too obsessed with success. I'm just surviving until the conditions are right for me to exit scot-free.
See to living in an Amish Community. Hehehe. They really set themselves apart from society.
I mean they could definitely benefit from a skilled worker like you.

That's exactly what I think. But I have not the courage and the circumstances to leave that way. But you are absolutely right. Do it. Or do it in some way. Sometimes there is not only black or white. Quit the job or the fulltime job, the rat race job. Work less. Do a crazy other job. A job more to humans true nature. Do it. I think, you are right with that.
