The freeze response? Dissociation? Your brain will numb you emotionally and physically to tolerate whatever situation you can't fight against or escape from. It certainly fucked up my life really badly.

My life is constant misery, to me it would feel wrong to laugh or smile. There is nothing to smile about in a world as horrible as this. For me, existence is only pain and suffering.

I don't laugh as often as I used to, but I still, quite rarely, achieve such a feat. There is always something humorous enough even when at the deepest pit of despair. I think it was gaybonez (?) that was being humorous even as he was ending his life in a goodbye thread. Maybe its a personality trait but I think I am like that too and I think it's better than full emo. I am already very dramatic and emo and people don't like it, can't forfeit the little lightheartedness I still have.
