how many of you are here looking for methods to a dignified self-deliverance due to chronic/terminal illness? How long have you been coping?

Please share your story, so we know we are not alone?

P.S. I know mental illness can be just as chronic, treatment résistent and excruciating..... but here, I'm referring to physical illness

Mine is not terminal, but debilitating. Just enough for pro-lifers to say that there is still hope, but too much difficulty they cannot see that is enough to push me over the edge.

Care to share more details? It's ok if you don't feel comfortable. How long has it been around?

Yes I've got an incurable condition, rather not say what but I'll dead by the time I'm 32, maybe sooner. I just found out last year and it took ages to get a proper diagnosis. The doctors tell me I've got plenty of time to live a "decent" quality of life but I don't want to watch myself waste away...... already gettinf so much pain in my hands and tremors I can't control, it's a nightmare. The merry is going too. It's genuinely horrifying and the thought of me continuing? I won't have it.

Who old are you know? Yeah.... I understand, I wouldn't want to see myself deteriorate little by little either

It is an eye problem, I can still see but something went wrong that affected clarity and how my eyes deal with light. At least half, if not almost all my tasks are affected. It forced to put my life on hold. There are also other health problems that I am still and able to deal with. But the recent one added to my plate, just been a year, I just cannot accept anymore. I have some kind of mild OCD also which makes it worse.

Erectile dysfunction. I've been 100% impotent for 2 years and won't recover.

This is the reason I want to ctb.

I liked my life before, not super-enthusiast but I wanted to live. Never been suicidal even in my darkest hours as long as I had health. I was also very fit.

Too bad now I only want to die. I still can't believe where I have fallen. Life sucks badly.

Yes. My chronic poor health is really the main reason for my wanting to ctb. I've had health problems since I was a child, I'm 50 now. The last 20+ years have been the worst and my health issues have limited my life so severely that I've become almost completely housebound and isolated, which besides the chronic pain and trying to cope with the other physical manifestations of my illnesses/diseases, has deteriorated my mental state and increased my lifelong depression and anxiety to a point where I know there's no hope of relief for me in ANY area, mental or physical. I'm so tired of being sick and I can't deal anymore with the many negative ways my health has impacted (and ruined) my life. I just want it over with now.

I read your story.... Frankly if I was in your place, I probably would want to go as well...

I have fibromyalgia, which is chronic, and probably progressive, but unfortunately not terminal. Even without the mental issues I have, fibro makes it really hard to live like a normal person. Constant flare-ups triggered by lots of things, heat intolerance, pain, weakness, memory and cognitive issues. This is not fun.

Hello. I was in an accident 3y ago. My arms consists now more or less of titan. Also developed chronic pain syndrome, and have severe nerve damage. Used to think how bad it would be to "loose" (damage) my legs, but sometimes I wish that was the case. There are no wheelchairs for arms, so my handicap is invisible for people. Means everybody thinks I look good/healthy. It's difficult when people don't belive you/understand. I try to breath and focus.
