I'm happy you were able to make it to 42, I don't think I'll get to that age myself. I'm already feeling far too tired to continue. Which is sad, I guess. I don't want to say that I get what you mean, I feel that'll be pretty disingenuous because of my age. I just don't know how you made it as far as you did? I hope that isn't taken as offensive as it sounds. I'm just curious.
I used condoms sometimes lol! Because I'm single with no kids or partner, in some ways this lowers stress. I eat reasonably well, and don't heavily abuse any drugs. Although Adderall is bad and I use smallest possible dose. I have never been prone to self harm even though I suffer with suicidal ideation. I've never been hospitalized. It's mostly luck that I'm still alive, and maybe just enough wherewithal to survive and manage to find small pleasures where I can. In some ways I've felt very lucky like with my physical health was always pretty good, not as much my mental though. There are some things that give me meaning, like certain speakers I like to watch on YouTube. Gives me hope in a way. The downside I failed to mention is that it's not really that hard to make it to 40 or 50 these days because modern life allows most people to at least reach this age. The problems begin when u hit these ages and u have no real support network, no retirement savings built up. So from here on out I don't think I will reach 50 because women value relationships over career even if we got brainwashed into career. Men are more interested in things and women more interested in people on average. This is where it becomes miserable if u become too isolated which is inevitable for many of us as we age. Children and family keep u in the loop and help prevent isolation. So I don't expect to make it to 50 just because I tend to be less interested in trying to meet new people nowadays. It's just harder.
You're so young too, it's very sad. Because u should be at happiest point of life. Well if most things go right I suppose.

I agree on suicide (and associated mental health issues) being an adolescence thing, from what I've seen and my own experiences depression and suicidal thoughts often start cropping up around the beginning to middle of adolescence, though not the case for everyone obviously.
My father died from complications of alcohol, when I was 3.5.
