It is pretty difficult to discuss politics online, especially with the amount of bots and misinformation.
I never used twitter, I don't see how you can have decent discussions within 150 characters, or whatever the limit is.
Talking to people one on one is the best way, from my experience. Obviously that is a lot less impactful because you only reach a single person, but the discussions are more constructive, no matter the views.
