I don't mean things like mandatory walking from home to school, for example, but like exercise for exercise's sake or for fun.

You know, for example:

football
yoga
dancing
lifting
pilates
basketball
tennis
squash
swimming
gym
home gym
stretching
home/gym exercise like lifting legs, doing pushups, doing squats
walking in forest
golf
vr exercise games

etc.

I'm very curious.

Of course hiking counts.

Did you see any animals or cool plants?
I hiked in the mountains, through a gorge and a forest.

I climb twice a week - I find it is the one thing that allows me to completely shut out the "chatter" of my thoughts. It is like 3D problem solving.

I like climbing steep hills in the nature. But I've never tried climbing where I'd need to use my arms.

What do you mean by 3D problem solving?

I hated exercise in school, because while I exercised a lot in free time, even had sport hobbies, there were a couple of fucking professional teenager athletes in school, so the teachers would say "Everyone do at your own pace, listen to your own body!" and five seconds later scream if girls did "only" 95 pushups or "only" run 9 minutes. A lot of the teachers were complete lunatic stupid narcissists who couldn't understand that a normal teenager who rarely exercises isn't at the same level as professionals. So there'd be a lot of fainting and broken bodies in those classes. And those classes were at the end of school, so who has energy left for sports after 6 hours school day? And then your grade report would read like "Math: Great. Writing: Great. Languages: Great. Sports: Bad" and it really fucking sucked.

If a teacher goes to an adult and says "wow, you suck at sports", everyone agrees the teacher is an asshole, of course. If a teacher tells kids who try their best and are about to faint and get injured "Wow, you kids suck. I'm gonna put in your reports that you suck at sports" no one sees a problem with it. Wtf?! It's dehumanizing to grade kids. We don't grade adults. Kids should feel they are great just for trying.

If you ever want, I encourage you to find something fun to do. Dancing to videos. Pretending to be a cat. Or even like 5 squats before bed.

Sadly, I used to run a 5km just about every day and the last time was in April. My feet have been in pain since, I believe it was overuse from too much walking and running, leading to tendonitis and now possibly plantar fasciitis. I should do home exercises, but haven't, just the mandatory walk to work and standing is too much. I cycle to shops daily, if that even counts.

Anyone with feet problems who could maybe relate, I'd greatly appreciate any words of advice. DM welcome, sorry OP, I don't mean to derail your thread. I used to be very active, but the feet are not happy with me.

I'm sorry to hear about your foot problems. (I don't like using DMs, because it's too stressful, so I'll just post here, don't worry about derailing).

There's a Finnish barefoot shoe shop specializing in healing feet, and they have videos about how to take care of your feet, but they are in Finnish. Though since they are videos you can probably still watch them:

Oh, they have videos about plantar fasciitis:

They are in Finnish, but you can just look at what they are doing and mimic. If you have a phone, you can also use google translator app. Just select Finnish as the source language, English as the target language, and press the microphone icon.

What do you mean by 3D problem solving?
When you are climbing (especially in a bouldering gym) you have to work out which way to twist or stretch to reach the next hold. It becomes a problem to solve rather than just physical exercise.

I was useless at sports at school, I have hyper mobility in my elbows and knees so could not throw, hit or kick a ball in a straight like. I am not competative so didn't do well in team sports.

The only sport I have really enjoyed is climbing, you only compete against yourself and climbers are mainly a group outside of mainstream and that resonates with me as well as indoor gyms only frequented by otger climbers, most outside crags are isolated Which again ticks boxes for me socailly.
