I don't care if a someone aborts their baby one day before birth just because it turns them on.

Not my fucking business what anyone does with a parasite inhabiting their body.

I think its insane that its even a question if abortion should be allowed or not. What does my body have to do with someone elses religion/moral codes.

personally i think it should be legal and safely accessible. if for example i were to get pregnant i simply would not be able to care for my child. yes its my responsibility to be safe but THINGS HAPPEN! nothing is 100% guaranteed other than abstinence

I think pregnancy should be divided into two major groups, the earlier one, during which abortion should always be allowed if a woman chooses to have it, and a later one, during which abortion could happen only for a very good reason, like a threat to a woman's life, and so on.

It is difficult to say where exactly to draw the line, I am pretty sure the majority of the public could agree for the first, the earlier period, to be 14 or 15 weeks, which is more than three months. I think that once the baby is developed enough so that it could have a beating heart and some kind of a nervous system, abortions should no longer happen, but a woman should also have enough time to realize that she is pregnant, discuss everything with her family, weigh her options, and make a decision for herself. I think three and a half months is enough time for her to make that happen.

This way it is possible to make sure that every woman has access to an abortion, but also to avoid the complicated philosophical questions of "what is a difference between abortion during the last week of pregnancy and a murder during the first week of a child's life after being born". This is why I do not agree only with late term abortions.

By the way, as I understand it, Roe v. Wade kind of had everything implemented in a reasonable way, where pregnancy was divided into 3 parts. Abortion was always allowed to happen during the first trimester, individual states could decide what would happen during the second trimester, and abortion was prohibited during the third trimester. It is a shame that the Supreme Court did what it did.

I voted "yes to abortion, but should be optional", even though I do not think it should be allowed in the third trimester.

There is absolutely nothing more dehumanizing than not being able to choose what you do with your own body. I honestly do not see how abortion bans are any different from rape or slavery in that regard.

The equation of abortion to murder is a very recent thing that christians have conjured up in order to get their way. Abortion was illegal all over the world for millennia solely as a means of preventing underpopulation. That's the actual reason abortion laws exist, and they were never equated to murder. The two are separate crimes with different definitions, reasons, and punishments attributed to them. They were simply never seen as the same thing.

The reason that christians want to ban abortion is the same reason they want to ban a whole bunch of things: religions are inherently conservative ideologies that advocate for implementing laws that were suggested centuries or millennia ago even if they don't make sense in the modern day. That's their goal, the reasonings that they provide for their goals (i.e. "by preventing abortions we are preventing murder") are nothing more than made up rationalisations that they need in order to feel like they are doing the right thing..

My views on abortion are completely in line with those stated on the profile page of the forum admin who clearly takes a very hard line on any deviation from that view (although for the record i do not believe absolutely in "free speech" when it comes to overt misogyny)

Tldr woman's right to choose imo

I think that the unmitigated free speech that characterises the US has shown itself to be a disaster in many ways.

It wasn't that recent. Some pope, I forgot which one it was, decided to ban abortion to solve some theorethical conundrum about how souls can't 'grow', they had to have been there at the moment of conception... it's bizarre. But that's where the christian anti-abortion stance took root, it was allowed before that.

Honestly, humans are fucking up the world beyond repair. While I believe it is up to the parents to decide, I think people should think, more than twice about having kids. Especially today! I just saw a recent video of lots of helpless migrant children being forced onto trains by their parents to escape drug cartels. They were escaping to find a better life in the US. And you all know how that will end. It's beyond sad and desperate for a lot of poor innocent souls that never asked for any of this. Imagine being born during a post WW3 world? Fuck that! Spare them from this bloody hellscape!

And no, idc when people abort at all if anyone is wondering

I won't share my opinion but something I do want to say is pro-abortion and anti-abortion people need to figure out why people have their beliefs. People who are strongly anti and pro abortion can be such close minded hypocrites who do not know how to communicate nor enter civil discussion regarding their viewpoints.

Let me first and foremost say I do not agree with procreation but I don't hate anybody who does. I am all for abortion. This world is factually cruel and like a prison planet.

1. Death - First of all, you die. There's no way around it. The body begins to break down, the older you get. You start to feel physical pain and the whole nine yards.

Dying, sickness and the possibility of mental illness in and of itself is enough in my opinion to be pro abortion.

I've decided I'm never going to have kids because I never want to put anyone through that painful process for no good reason. There's no reason in my head that isn't selfish for *ME* to have a kid. (I cannot speak for others as their beliefs may be unique from mine.)

2. Unhealed Parents - A lot of people who have kids never properly heal their trauma and pass it onto the children. Because of this, the parents end up not raising the children right and generation curses begin.

3. Societal Programming - The higher ups, (whoever they may be) - the ones who decide what to play on the radio, when one era is done and another is supposed to start, what clothes are in style, what becomes cool to say, what's considered success, how money is distributed, etc etc...

I would never want to bring another human being into this classiest, apathetic, money hungry mess.

The majority of society are so programmed to be shallow minded and fast paced, that if you think deeply, you are either considered a genius or a loser who needs to touch grass.

Society is very classist, rude and you get by better if you're good looking as a woman or a certain type of a man. Imagine your kid comes out unconventional looking according to society and on top of that, they are a minority as far as beauty standards and other standards go. Why on Earth would I want to bring a child into such mess?

4. Why Would I Want A Kid? - I can't think of any good or moral reasons to have a child unless it's some spiritual reason. (Giving a soul a chance at life and possibly giving itself a lesson so it can upgrade into the next life.) But that's hypothetical.

There is no concrete reason why I should have a kid aside from the fact I want an extension of myself or to keep my lineage going. The first part sounds incredibly narcissistic and the latter wouldn't matter if I'm dead. I wouldn't be here to see the lineage continue, so this thought is just a baseless mortal idea.

If I want a child because I want to give someone love and raise them up right, I can adopt one of the millions of children without loving parents, instead of bringing another one into this life for the reasons I gave.

So, this is a thorough reason why I am pro abortion. I also don't think it's murder. That's like saying cracking an egg to make scrambled eggs is murdering a chicken.

It isn't a chicken yet. It would be different if it was an entire baby, formed and all but most aren't like that.

Like I said, I won't speak against or for anyone else. These are only my beliefs and why I choose pro abortion and why I don't think having kids is a good idea. I can't think of any good reason for myself.

I chose "yes in some cases".
I don't believe a woman should be forced to carry a baby when she was a victim of rape or coerced in any way so I think early abortion should be allowed.

I also believe life begins at conception, a woman isn't carrying a dead being, so I do think it is murder. This is why I personally believe it is wrong to see abortion so casually and should be treated as an ultimate last resort. I'm not sure about aborting at any term but I think if people saw abortion as a woman right but also the murder of an innocent being, people could be more mindful, more careful (for cases where a baby was wanted without weighing in all the pros and cons).
I think seeing a baby as a parasite is incredibly sad and degrading. That is an innocent life, it's not their fault that they're in this state. If abortion is the best course of action for that woman, then she should be allowed to do an abortion, but I also think she should be respectful of the life that was killed.

Because they suck
Instead of having preconceived notions of people look into why they think so. This video even though it is A.I shows both sides of the argument very well. A.I is just the accumulation of human thoughts in the first place.

I think it's fine and should be allowed up to a certain point, since the baby also is a human being who has rights, so we should balance those rights with the rights of the mother. But I don't know what exactly that point is.

I think there's some discussion about the maximum time since it might be hard to know if you're pregnant or not in the first few months, so there's this practical issue. I don't know the answer either.

Yeah, I'm not taking an AI generated video seriously. I'm already aware of the train of thought that goes through most pro-lifers heads since they are usually just repeating the same talking points over and over again.
