Don't settle for less. I guess you should make the best of what you have though. Don't lose what you have now by chasing something else. You could end up losing it too. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Make the most of what you have

What I mean is constant development and adaptation to circumstances.

Lol I used the chocolates as a metaphor for possible life choices. Hopefully I only need to choose one (this life) and never again. When they give me the box of chocolates next time, I will refuse! I'm not gonna gobble them all up like some people (cough cough those who *want* to reincarnate). I don't know why they want to try them all. One is enough for me

Don't know if I have a single firm philosophy, but a few general rules I've found:

• It can always get worse. Doesn't mean it will, but it might if you let it.
• I'm not the main character, or even special, really, so it's stupid to set expectations contradicting that.
• Try not to be harder on yourself than you would on someone else in the same situation.
• Related: but be patient with people. They'll feel better and be better to you and you'll feel better, because even though you aren't special you at least had a little positive influence. We're all trying, we're all flawed, and we're all struggling one way or another.
• Let yourself love someone, but not blindly worship them. Live for that person. Way easier since your self-hatred doesn't apply.

These result in trying to yearn for lessened misery rather than happiness, which I find to be way more realistic. Rather than chasing some ideal perfect career or accomplishment or unicorn partner, aim for something where you could say, "you know, it could be worse."

But guess what? My philosophy broke down recently.

All my life I didn't care about anything, never used be tensed about exams, school, college, friends, career, etc. I always knew I had a great luck. My luck always used to save me from everything, no matter how bad the situation. I thought that this time also my luck will be there as always to save and thug me out of this difficult situation, but to my utter surprise, I ran out of luck. Now I have no goddamn idea on how should I deal with anything. Everything is falling/crumbling apart. My business, my studies, my relations, my health, my finances, my beliefs, my dreams.
How foolish of me to think that things will automatically work out for me like it always has...

I've always wondered what that meant. I thought it was actually "If I can't be on my own, I'd feel better dead." I was confused about it because you said that you had a boyfriend, but it makes sense now that I realize it's "my own" and not "on my own." I wonder why it's "my own" instead of "myself" though
