  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

What exactly is the real reason people are keeping us alive, are we slaves or a benefit to the economy (Workers, Idk) maybe they like to be a hero and boost themselves in the world "Hey, Random dude! I saved a jumper today!" Boom a pat on the back for him. But yeah, You get the point; What's the real reason why they save us!

Optimism perhaps? Caring? Hoping for the best? In a way my awful mind wishes I could save some people since I wish they could be in my life, which is hypocritical since I don't want my life. But if I'm to live they make it better, so it's selfish of me. I'm sometimes unsure if I want to stay or not, and the part of me that wants to be here probably wants the hope that others can get better so I can think that I could as well. Plus it's just incredibly sad people get to such a point and I wish they didn't and we could all live happy, fulfilling lives. Those are my more positive thoughts, I think it can be taken in darker ways as well but I prefer not to.

Coincidently this came up right under another discussion about selfishness so I guess other peoples selfishness Is where I was going with that but you're right, reproduce and feed the economy. I guess that's saying about you only live once kind of comes to mind. Humans have only been around sore a second or 2 in the grand scheme and we can be wiped out and everything will be for nothing

Were slaves to society. There's a reason the MSM plugs us with stories about sport and two rich guys running amok at the Oscars instead of reporting on real issues, it's all to distract us from how meaningless we really are.

Well for the most part, most people believe in the sanctity of life. They believe in "saving lives." Most people want to live and assume others do too. Prior to feeling this way, I would have assumed that people who were suicidal were mentally ill or extremely distraught and needed "help."
I have a relative who took their own life after many years of Misery but I never really thought about whether he was "better off dead " or not. If I have been able to speak with him before he killed himself I would've been inclined to try to help him. To convince him not to. To help find a way for him to find meaning and purpose.
I know another person who was on their way to CTBing but changed their mind after changing their medication. This person has a tremendous amount of potential to live a happy and fulfilling life and I'm glad they're giving it another shot. All of this is to say I think that those who are reaching out to people who are suicidal and trying to help them are not doing it to keep the slaves toiling to keep the economy humming. I think they believe they're "helping."

MSM provides what people like to read about/see. What gets the most eyeballs. What gets the most eyeballs gets the most revenue from advertisers/subscribers. Global warming is important but it's boring and sad. What's important is sometimes catchy. Often it's not.

I will give people the benefit of the doubt and believe that what they say is what they sincerely believe, that being that life, and the sanctity of life, is sacred, at least until I have proof otherwise. I don't happen to believe that anyone else has a right to determine what someone else does with one's own life, but that is my belief and I am entitled to it just like 'they" are entitled to their beliefs. Personally, I feel their argument falls apart because these same people who fight for the sanctity of life are the same ones arguing for faster carrying-out of death sentences, which, by the way, they, also, condone. Either you're for life or you're not. It should be a binary choice. but it's not.

If suicide was not so stigmatised, it would shatter many people's delusional beliefs that life is always worth living. Maybe if peaceful methods were easily accessible, everyone would start to realise how meaningless life is and how it is just a pointless struggle for the sake of it and they would see their lives as not being worth living. The society would therefore lose most of its workers.

Social pressure from conditioning in society and also from peers. It is in all of their interest to keep their power in society so "saving" bodies to keep contributing to the economy is in their interest

Because society has taught people to stay alive at all costs, even if there is very little hope left. Until the taboo is lifted (if it ever will) things will remain the same.

This might not be a popular opinion, but here goes anyway. Society doesn't keep us alive- it ultimately can't—we do. True, sometimes luck intervenes, but far more often it's a faulty plan, it's not having sufficient determination, it's—deep down—not wanting to.

They don't really care about anyone, they are afraid that CTB will become a widespread action. In this way, they will face the fact that life is not as valuable as they think. They can only survive by forgetting this. Religions such as Islam and Christianity recommend accepting pain as a goal, rejecting life and living for the other life in order to cope with the meaninglessness of existence. If someone easily gives up their life, it undermines their motivation to proliferate. Seeing someone commit suicide reminds them that life can be meaningless. Instead, they invite us into the brotherhood of suffering.

Perhaps the belief that all life is precious and anyone that wants to ctb must have something wrong with them that can be fixed. And maybe the lack of understanding that not everyone gets happy endings. That because their life got better means it will get better for everyone if people try hard enough. Otherwise, I have no idea why people force others to live through pain.

I know this argument has been made many times, but we euthanize animals that cannot express their wants, while humans are denied euthanasia when they ask. The need to keep animal population in check to keep the food pyramid stable, while humans are allowed to overpopulate.

Off topic... Also, the static speaks my name is such a great game. It doesn't have the cheesy pro-life stuff. Just the harsh reality.
