At the moment, it's death. But I'm in a state in which this changes several times a day

death. it's both survival instinct and the fear of unknown. we aren't certain about what happens next, it's just surreal to think about ceasing to exist. but life isn't scary, it just sucks.

Life.

Death to me is peaceful. Living is guaranteed suffering.

Death erases all suffering that comes with life. Life is scary because you can be harmed or tortured at any moment for any reason at any intensity

The unpredictability and seemingly endless ways to suffer and find yourself in your own personal hell is far more terrifying to me than dying or being dead. Being dead is a certain end to unpredictable and potentially perceptively endless torture. Also, you have to die reguardless, so if anything I find the idea of suicide alluring, it will likely be comparably less painful than dying naturally or however I would die otherwise.

Right now I'm rather scared of dying, because I can still live a relatively normal life. But at age 23, I already know that by the time I'm 30, I'll most probably sit in a wheelchair and totally depend on other people's assistance

life is horrible and the only way I see out is death so my mind doesn't recognize it as something bad as for all my pain and suffering will be gone. life is hell and death is heaven

Imho , both life and death is torture. Due to my buddhist beliefs , suicide is a major sin . Even death cant save me from hell.

I'm terrified of life if I were to fail at dying again and be caught. I simply cannot handle any more mental health treatment, it's been far too traumatic and I have no more treatment options short of Ketamine therapy. I've died before and I simply ceased to exist, which to me is comforting. Though I also fear a painful death, which is unlikely with full suspension hanging unless I do something wrong.

It's what's after death that I fear ie a possible Hell

For me the thought of living the way I currently am is way more terrifying than dying. Even though nobody actually knows what death is like. Anyone's best guess is still less scary than many years of this life unfortunately.

Definitely life as I would be sentient (conscious) to experience the fear and my stubborn SI (survival instinct) trying to keep me alive against my will.

It's all a matter of perspective, but here's mine:

I think life is more frightening, because in truth you can only be afraid of something while you are alive. The whole concept of fear, awe or anything like that was created by living minds, even the fear of death.

On the other hand, I am an atheist and I don't believe in life after death. For me death means ceasing to exist and ceasing to exist is not scary because first of all it is nothing. You can only fear something if you exist, or in other words, you are alive.

Life because it contains death anyway for a start! Whether you choose to bring it about early or not- you're going to have to experience death anyway if you're alive. Just part of the deal... that we didn't make to begin with...

I suppose I hope there's nothing after death- so, a short, sharp shock, then out- ideally. Whereas life is just however long more of anxiety and things just likely getting worse and worse. Death- I'm hoping will be the happy release/escape from that.

As for bringing it about though. I don't know really. Now isn't the right time for me. I feel like I need to hang on for my Dad. After that though- I guess it will depend. Life COULD just trundle on if I let it. Or- there could very well be situations I would rather kill myself than go through. Namely, having to see someone I'm sure is a narcissist and who caused me to feel this way in the beginning. Have to wait and see I guess.

As a concept though- I'd say life is more frightening from what we know. Of course- if afterlives are real- then that's more living really. So- death theoretically COULD be worse than this particular life- if it leads to more lives that are worse. The unknown aspect of death is more scary I guess- but like I said at the start- it's coming for everything alive anyway!

death only because it is full of mystery. life is predictable. death would not be scary if i knew that i would truly disappear, but i dont know that. my fear exists solely because of my fear of the unknown.

I actually don't know what to fear more. What I fear is that I have to live a life that I don't want to live with no chance to escape it. Should I fear death, I don't know, I guess not. Death will be a relief from all agony and suffering in this life whch I don't want to live any more.

I could never see death itself as being something to fear as I just believe that we simply cease existing after this with this existence finally forgotten about. I see death as being something so ideal instead as in the state of permanent non-existence one cannot suffer and they are completely unaware of everything for all eternity, in such a hellish and dreadful world filled with endless torment of course the only relief could ever lie in death.

I see existence as being a horrific and unnecessary disturbance in what would otherwise be the most ideal state of not-being and I certainly see existence as being something to be feared, it's terrifying to exist in a world where there's unlimited potential for suffering, I have awareness that existence is nothing more than an unnecessary harm, to exist could never be something desirable no matter what.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

I fear life because u can suffer extreme pain at any day any second . And you have to work hard all day everyday just to exist in this state of threats of something even more horrible happening to me . Some gift this life is huh more like prison slavery torture.

I don't fear death.

After death is non-existence forever the ultimate bliss to me no chance of pain ever , never suffering,no problems not having to worry no damn work or having to do anything at all. Why would I fear that death = non-existence forever.

Just take one need having to feed yourself 3 times a day . Look at all the hundreds of things u have to do just to feed these 30 trillion cells they call a human body. For what reason there is no objective purpose of life. This has always been the case every human or animal has to constantly feed itself or feel the pain of starving. And all the NPCs think this is ok

Death isn't scary. What's after death is the same thing which was before life. Are we afraid of the time before we were born ?
The process of dying might be scary for most of us and that's something which is a part of life.
Everything we will experience is in life. Death simply means going to nothingness. No pain, no fear, no thought, no us. Just nothing. Cannot be scary.

But life surely is.
