Help What will be useful to know from Organic Chemistry to CTB?

I'm in Organic Chemistry 1 now and doing okay in the class. I want to buckle down and be a better student (it will help me whether I go on to live a successful life OR ctb).

I've been told that you can synthesize a lot of cool stuff after Organic Chemistry 2. So I'm wondering what parts of the curriculum I should be sure to know especially well, and what some recipes and products could be.

As someone who took Ochem, you do not cherry pick particular parts to learn. You need to learn all of it. You need to know about molecular stability and why you only get certain molecules out of a reaction (hello thermodynamics). You need to learn about each type of carbon ring and its characteristics. You need to learn anything and everything about OH groups. You need to learn the unique qualities of the different types of organic molecules.

This is like saying you want to be a mechanic, so which parts of the engine should you pay attention to. All of it.
