  • Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I need a moment right now

This exercise is to remind you of how you used to feel and where you are now, almost like reminiscing the past, since the past holds a memory you can still engage in to work on, while the present, you have no idea where you'll go, but if you can, give yourself this growth to try and focus on going back there on tough times.

For me, it was always One Piece, SVFOE, Fairly Odd Parents, Barbie, Monster High, and Lab Rats

Compared to now, I struggle watching One Piece and have stuck on eps 600 for the past four years now since I last got in touch with that and can't care anymore, SVFOE paused and finished it, but the ending made me not sad as it once did, Fairly Odd Parents will always make me happy, but it doesn't bring the same feelings anymore especially since I've lost touch and the themes are more sadder now, Barbie excited me and it will always excite me, Monster High makes me proud I enjoyed a past to my girlhood and I might but I'm not sure again, and Lab Rats made me feel so happy inside but I never finished it.

You don't have to share or engage with what you'll do now, just share what about these excited you originally and what makes you struggle... it seems from me engaging more into this practice, I was able to illustrate my point on what I found to be the cause of what truly give me a sense of happiness...

Hopes this helps someone!

The big bang theory, it still makes me a little bit happy but not so much as it used too.

Frasier, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Keeping up Appearances, As Time Goes By, Game of Thrones, a whole lot of crime dramas: Inspector Morse, Jonathan Creek, Midsomer Murders, Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Pie in the Sky. Plus, film series too like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I'm sure there are others I've missed...

I often put any of them on in the background while I work. They give me a comforting and nostalgic reassurance. I'm not sure I've actually lost my appreciation for them. Obviously, it's not the same as seeing something for the first time and loving all the twists and turns but, there's also something nice about returning to familiar things. It's nice when I've left it long enough to forget how good a series is.

The Powerpuff Girls, I still have the VHS I would watch over and over again. I remember when I would stay home sick and just watch the same episodes on loop on the little CRT at the end of my parents' bed. I wanted to be just like Buttercup when I was in elementary school. My most distinct memory with that specific VHS and on that bed was staying home one day with my dad, who worked night shift, as I used the dehumidifier to help me get over a cold. It's a comforting memory from a time long gone

Endeavour?
Endeavour? And I agree wholeheartedly as regards returning to familiar things in viewing terms.

Endeavour?

I really want to watch Endeavour. For some weird reason, I haven't seen many. Maybe not any! Thanks for the reminder. Do you think it's as good as Morse?

Better for me. You can always watch it on ITVX. They're so worth a watch.

I'm a big TV nostalgia person. My favourite film is The Day of the Jackal (1970) a lot of which is due to the nostalgia for nicer times.

I like all kinds of content, TV definitely was better in the past. In terms of movies I think 80s is the peak or early 90s

The tone is just more positive mostly. There's no politics shoehorned in for no reason. Any character diversity's is genuine diversity, with different personalities, opinions. Their skin colour or sexuality is largely secondary rather than the reason they got the job. Families are intact, and people are just more positive about their lives and the future
