Considering gunshot since it provides the highest chance of success--90%, I believe I read. But the violence of it is a deterrent. I'd prefer an overdose that would let me slip away without pain and not wake up later in a hospital bed as a vegetable or otherwise disabled. I've got a lot of research to do.

I took a Ton of pills, laid in bed for what seemed like hours, told my brother what I did, went to ER, I was put in icu on a mechanical ventilator ,experienced seizures and survived. This was 13 years ago. I haven't attempted since but am planning too very soon.

Before coming here I thought jumping in front of a train was a good idea (I still think about it in the back of my mind because it seems so easy).
Tried partial hanging, gave up cos it just hurt and didn't feel like I achieved anything. Probably going to try it again soon, since everything else seems much more difficult. No way am I getting N/SN from anywhere anytime soon with my current situation. Guess I gotta do more research and actually find the "sweet spot", feels like I don't have one though, but it has been a while since my last attempt.

I was 9 years old when I first tried to commit suicide. I went through my parents medicine cabinet & grabbed a few pills. I wrote a note as well.
I've tried other times during my life.

Since I was nine, my thoughts everyday are how can I get my courage up to finally succeed. One day I'll have that courage.

Then, the closest time, when I had everything in order & I was ready to go - jumping off a very high bridge with lots of rocks & low volume of water below.
Now... I have a 9 mm.

Yeah you have to prepare for the most batshit insane misfortune to escape this world. It is almost like it is programmed to keep us here sometimes.

No shit! Every one of my methods could have failed at any time. Once, my family found out I'd attempted & tried to have me committed to the hospital. Fortunately for me there were no beds & I didn't have insurance. So they kept me in the ER for 3 days.

OD, cutting my wrists or hanging

I was literally on suicide watch in the psych ward after a failed OD desperately trying to come up with a way to end my life, was gonna use the bed sheets or try to smash the mirror in the bathroom to slit my wrists. Luckily I was still allowed my phone though and I accidentally stumbled across this site, I think I saw someone mention it on Reddit and then looked it up, couldn't believe I'd never heard of it before considering I'd been on and off suicidal for 10+ years

First I considered shotgun. I figured I'd go out to a remote outdoor area as I didn't want some poor bastard to have to do the indoor scene cleanup.

However two things put me off. Firstly, even with a successful attempt, you will create an unholy mess and there's the chance that you will be found by someone who'll just steal your weapon. Secondly, I've seen failed attempts on YouTube/Liveleak where you'll spend the rest of your life in a hospital without a face and a feeding tube put down your throat just to keep you alive. Nope.

Then I considered jumping. People have actually survived failed parachute openings and again, there's always the possibility that you'll land on and kill or cripple some poor bystander. Nope.

My dream/ideal method was jumping into Niagara Falls. Ever since the first time I saw it I was just drawn to it and felt an urge to climb over the railing. But people have survived that before so I'll never try
