Looked it up, just has links to fixthe26.
I'm not entirely sure why they made a petition - the fact that it has nearly 10,000 signatures means... well, nothing. I'm sure some of them are doing it out of retaliation after their loved ones ctb, so I can understand that. The comments with the most likes appear to be pro-choice, so that's interesting and a positive thing to see.
Just by reading the comments you can see that the vast majority of signatures aren't offering constructive arguments - or any that hold particularly strong value. The comments that seem most sound of mind are the ones that talk about needing mental health support instead of a pro-choice community - and even then, they don't talk about the fact that in truth, it's a 50/50 argument. Yeah, some people do need support - so what, you give them less options? Seek therapy and/or get medicated? Yeah, works for some people, has saved my life a couple times - but both of these things are most often temporary - and if they don't work, you're told to "keep trying". I'd happily go on about my years of being thrown about the mental health system, but I'm aware that it works for a lot of people, and I wouldn't tell someone to ever think about suicide - hell, even I'd be sad if a loved one ctb, but I would be angry at the health care system rather than here - because that's usually what fails.
If they had pure intentions they'd be trying to promote awareness, raising funds to improve the mental health systems; to improve support for people who do seek it.
