IIRC it ends with Chigurh getting into a car accident and walking away lile an injured beast. The meaning becomes clearer when you watch some of their other films, especially Blood Simple, their debut. In the eyes of Chigurh, you're essentially worthless if you rely on other people, and don't deserve to be alive. That's why he has this visceral reaction when the old guy tells him he married into the estate. That's why there are nooses tied behind him. It can be ubderstand as an allegory for the harshness and apathy of deep-red, rural America where the only two things people believe in are guns and money.I did not get the point of this movie... granted I was like 15yrs old. The only part worth watching apparently was the end and by then I fell asleep because it was so boring
