In recent memory, I have only been unconscious once, for a few seconds. It was when I had a really bad flu a few years ago. I woke up with serious night sweats, totally drenched as if I'd had a shower, and went to the bathroom to get a sip of water. Before I could I fainted. I was standing up, after fainting I was on the floor but somehow I had landed in a safe position. The actual fainting felt like a wave of nausea or something, and then nothing, I don't remember anything besides just coming to in a different position.

Those of you who have deliberately achieved unconsciousness, or indeliberately, what was it like / what do you remember about it? How did it feel?

Nothing. Literally, nothing. A complete blank. I was unconscious for... idk? A couple dozen seconds to a minute or two during a hanging attempt before the rope broke, and I don't remember anything at all.

It was a direct jump from putting the rope around my neck to being on the ground in pain

I was hit in the head by a tennis ball cannon and was unconscious for around 30 seconds. I don't remember any pain in the moment and even after I woke up it didn't feel like much. Despite the traumatic impact that caused it I don't have any bad memories of it and there's really nothing inbetween, sort of a fuzziness at the borders.

Nothing unpleasant surrounding the unconsciousness, it's literally nothingness, and not anything I'd worry about by itself.

I went through full anesthesia when I broke a finger and needed a surgery. God it was beautiful. There was absolutely nothing. NOTHING. And I'd kill myself to relive this again.

Unconsciousness is like dreamless sleep. Time doesn't pass for you while you're unconscious. You can't perceive the exact moment you lose consciousness any more accurately than you can the moment you fall asleep.

It was nothingness. It was like I blinked but substantial time passed while my eyes were closed. It was like my brain was literally "off". I have also had surgeries under general anesthesia and it feels the same way. You close your eyes in the OR and immediately open them in the recovery room hours later.

as many have said when being put under anesthesia, it is quite trippy how it is nothing. not like black nothingness void. it's literally just nothing.

i counted down and by the time i hit 4 it was like i had a time jump and opened my eyes and the surgery was over.

it tripped me out the first time it happened cause it really is like your brain is just disabled and plugged back in.

in that disabled state literally nothing is happening.

I went under anesthesia. Unlike others, it wasnt a "close my eyes and open them again 2 hours ahead"
I could feel my consciousness slowly shut down (which is scary as shit) and me waking up was quite slow and in and out. Not clean at all.
Despite that, i never felt anything at
all… it was truly nothing.

When i think back to it, i think of the blackness. But heres the funny part: you dont even register that blackness.
I think thats the best way to describe it.

I was put under anaesthesia for gallbladder removal. Initially, it was weird- when they injected the stuff, I very quickly felt a tingly sensation in my temples. I told them I felt dizzy- because I didn't know how else to describe it. I decided to close my eyes and then, when I opened them again- the ceiling was moving- because they were wheeling me into the recovery area. Like other people have mentioned though- it was just nothing. No memories, no dreams, no sense of how much time had passed. Just relatively mild discomfort from the procedure. Kind of like sleep though. You don't always register the moment you fall into sleep.

Unconsciousness or oblivion is simply an experience that cannot be experienced. There is no perception of space or time and there is no memory of it.

Went under a general anesthesia.
When they started to pump drugs I felt dizzy and my eyelids just shut off themselves under like 5 seconds. People often talk about "one moment you are here, the next you are there" with no sense of passage of time, but my experience was different. I can't say I felt no passage of time because I somewhat did. I saw no dreams or anything, but when I woke up in the ICU, it didn't felt like I just teleported there. Although I have no recollection of surgery or anything I experienced, I still kinda felt the time passed and that something was happening while I was under. It is a very strange feeling and it's hard to put into words.

This is what worries me about death. I fear I'll experience it as a jump massively forward in time to another cosmic cycle or something.

ive blacked out once and been unconscious once. i ended up getting knocked out when i got hot by a car and sent to the hospital. all i saw was a car coming at me while crossing the street and ekxt thing i knew i was in an ambulance. took me until i was in the hospital to even remember i was hit. and i blacked out during new years after drinking too much. i puked on my bathroom floor and then i woke up in bed with no pants on. its like if you took a video and just removed a section. one second you're here, next you're over there.
