There's been a lot of threads on the subject of reality and dreams recently so it made me curious. What is the strangest or weirdest dream that you have ever had?

All of them. All of my dreams are weird

My weirdest dreams have to be that I was literally in a video game with different levels (like a tower and playing the game irl (I think it was inspired by Tower of God lol)), I was on this like spaceship thing/refugee building with my sister and we had to look out for a group of enemies who followed us (onto earth I guess?), and I died and entered the spirit world and saw my "spirit guide"

Nightmare. There was a gang of beautiful violinists who made me watch people being flayed.
Nightmares are cool too.

Sounds intense
Nightmares can certainly be very vivid and interesting, too, no doubt. Also hypnopompic and hypnagogic hallucinations. 😴

i was in a void, but it felt full? it was very weird, there was a presence of somebody there. it didn't feel scary, it felt warm, like a hug.
but strangely, remembering it feels like i was out of breath, like if there was a knot in my throat.

My weirdest dream, by far, was after college I got recruited for "College 2", and the director was an AI who performed an anal inspection to all visitors to verify they were students. It could identify anyone based on rectal texture, but it used its robotic hand too strongly, and ot felt like someone put needles up there every time. Eventually, we just got tired, sabotaged it, and escaped.

When I lived with my grandparents as a kid I had a dream where I left my body to play on the 2nd floor. I saw some cartoon characters there but eventually I was vacuumed down the stairs by invisible force and right into the bed where I woke up.

On 2015-04-04 (the night towards 5th, technically, but I like the number 44), I had a dream where I was looking into a girl's eyes and felt the happiest I had ever felt. And no, it wasn't a lewd dream.

Back at that time, I also had frequent lucid dreams which I used to fly for a bit, seeing the scenery in bright colours. Was honestly kind of cool, albeit unstable. I've long since lost the ability - although I'm too lazy to wake up randomly after 3 hours (to go to sleep afterwards trying to become lucid).

I also had a dream paralysis back then for the first time ever. And few more occurrences where I exercised calmness in the face of it.

...But the coolest dream-adjacent event happened on 2023-07-25 when after a dream, I talked to Astaroth, and right at that moment the girl whom I was stalking followed a Twitch streamer with Lucifer in the name! I still have an archive of the fact (although cannot prove the Astaroth part).

I asked him about my past life and he said that I wasn't allowed to know. I'm not sure if it was actually the spirit world or if he was actually my spirit guide or not.

I had a dream as a kid once that there was a woman who was drowning children, and when asked why she did it, she answered it was for money. I have no idea why I had a dream like this, it was very strange and makes no sense to me even now.

My weirdest dream is probably the one that was actually the least weird. I used to work at a fast food job so one night I just had a dream where I had a complete shift. Nothing weird happened but when I woke up I found it startling that I had basically had a perfectly normal day go by in my dream and it ended right when I fell asleep in the dream. To me, the presence of nothing weird made it extra weird.

I love having my weird dreams and can't even judge which one is truly "the weirdest".
Last night was kinda special and it still lingers in my thoughts (although I am already awake for 12 hours). Feels worth sharing with you.

I was at the hospital with my friend and his family, because his grandmother was there being treated. She was recovering from something, but not life threatening, everything was normal, nobody was sad or in distress. And then it became weird.
A girl entered the hospital room and apparently she was a friend of everyone in the room including me ... But I didn't recognize her face, everyone just treated her like she was "our" friend and I thought so too... It was clear why she was in the hospital. She had markings around her neck, it looked like it was from a SA by hanging. But she smiled and seemed happy, the only odd one in the room was me, because it seemed to me that nobody else knew why she was in the hospital.
Something wasn't right and I left the room silently, because I didn't want to deal with the fake-ness in this anymore. Maybe only I could see that she was actually suffering and everyone else was gaslighting her into thinking it was just an accident? I don't know...
Anyway I left the room and then got lost in the building. This part was a bit foggy, the only thing I remember is that I was walking around for a while and I got really confused and dizzy to a point that I collapsed, but I was still conscious. A nurse saw me and I told her that I got lost and can't find the exit. She seemed nice and said:" I will escort you to the exit." I thanked her and was happy, because I just wanted to get outside (I believed that once I am outside, I would know how to get home). We passed through some doors, but still wasn't outside. She said she will be right back and left me in some kind of shared patient space. That's when I realized... She thought I was a patient, because when I looked at my wrist I had this hospital bracelet with my name on it. But I remembered that I only had it because back in the visit room my friend and I created our own handcrafted bracelets and it was fake. We created them as an act of solidarity (for the grandmother). It was just a misunderstanding. I found again other nurses, and tried to explain the situation to them, but... They just said they will look into it (and return with an answer later).
I.... Just... What? Was I actually a patient? With that realization I was suddenly more peaceful in my head. I thought:"finally someone is taking care of me. Finally I am no longer in pain. I don't have to pretend anymore. I can tell everyone that I want to die."

That's when I woke up...
I was still peaceful in my head and I wanted to go back to sleep, but couldn't. (And even if, most likely I will not continue dreaming the same dream).
Later this day I remembered why this dream was so familiar, it's kinda the same plot as shutter island xD I haven't seen the movie since it was released...
So in case you wonder if I created this story during my awake hours... I really didn't. Only added the dialogues, because it's easier to read it this way. But the emotions (first misunderstood then at peace) are real.

Holy sh*t, your dream just made me remember one of my best dreams.
In my dream the world was about to end and there was also a "spirit guide" (but in my case it said it was an extraterrestrial lifeform from another galaxy or something). It explained to me that even though every human is about to die, it will not be painful and most importantly, without regrets. That's because in the last second before death, the human brain will finish how your life would have been BUT without the events that cause pain. Like a simulation that in reality only last a second, but feels like a lifetime. And you will feel fulfillment because you will do whatever you want with whoever you want. A fake utopia that doesn't feel fake.
I was the last person to die and watched as everyone else around me died, but could feel somehow (because I was chosen by the alien?) That everyone died with the peace that was explained.

Thanks for reminding me <3

Just last night I dreamt of an alternate reality that was actually a living planet-sized organism. It could delete and create new parts of itself at will. You could tell if a part was about to get deleted if everything in that area turned a shade of blue, and if you got caught in that area, you would get deleted, too. You'd only have several seconds to get out before you got deleted. I was one of 20 human explorers, but this reality was completely filled with human-like things that were not really human but appeared to be. I tried to blend in and pretend to be those almost-human things, but I got caught by them a few times, though always managed to escape. I spent the whole time trying to find my human colleagues but always lost track of them. Far from my weirdest but I thought it sounded like a good premise for a science fiction story.

i feel like one of the strangest ones was me living in my room waking up over and over, until i eventually snapped out of it in the dream and realized how in fact i havent even been in my own room but an illusion of that, as i was leaving my bed things i observed my wals as they get greener, the floor wasnt even my floor just some sand like substance, and on top of that wild life appeared around me with my lamp turning into a snake and leaving somewhere else.. and i was just there standing amazed by what was going around me - Its one of many examples of "interesting" dreams I had but definietly a unique one with the feeling of not being able to escape ur own dream turning into something else

that sounds really wacky! >_< almost like a semi-scary picture book made for kids~ It'd definitely scare the heck out of me at least! D: It definitely has a unique meaning for your unconscious like you feeling like you can't control your own life and surroundings or something like that tho~

Weird because it's both the first dream I can remember having and really the only dream I remember all that well.

I remember being in a crib and there was some monster (A humanoid monster like the predator from the 'Predator' movie franchise), and riding my crib away from it as it chased me out of my room and down the stairs.

Then while I can't remember the dreams themselves, I've had a bunch of dreams with the "I have no mouth and I must scream" feeling where you feel a psychological need to scream, but are physically incapable of vocalizing anything.

Back when I was 15, I had a dream where I was in my bedroom and then someone told me I was dreaming which caused me to realize that I was in fact dreaming. This caused me to panic and I ran out of the room, out of the apartment, down the hallway, and outside to the front of the building. Then I threw myself in front of an incoming car and woke up right when it hit me.

One of the weirdest dream I had just happened a few weeks ago.
I opened my eyes and couldnt see anything, it was so dark so I thought to myself "maybe the lamp bulb is dead already" so I got up quickly and reached for the light switch that is just within reach but it wouldnt turn on. I panicked at this point because Im scared of the dark and fortunately I found my door handle, I tried to pull it back but it would not when its easy to be opened. After I think 3 more pulls a thought then came "its a dream" right after I realized that. Its as if my body was put back to where it was in the beginning and when I actually opened my eyes, I was fully awake. I could see my lamp was on and a few sun rays thru my door, it was already noon.
Weird scary dream. That night I force my cat to sleep in my room.
