As if prosufferers aren't motivated enough to make an account to ask for a new SN-source to get that shut down too.

I suggested waiting for a user to get to 200 posts or having account of a certain age before PMing them the source. Also, do people look at the post-history of the person before PMing a source?

But some people got mad at me about those arguments. I mean, it depends if it's worth losing a source versus having some newbie with 14 posts get mad.

I was looking out more for others seen as I have my SN already. I wish I had bought more but 2 packs are enough hopefully cuz I can't order any more!

But seriously, walk me through that logic:

1. Don't mention the source on the open website in-case @prosufferer_twitter_twat1 sees it and reports it
2. @prosufferer_twitter_twat1 has an account PTT1 on this website and asks to be DMd the source
3. He reports the source.
4. But at least he had to jump through one hoop first! Gotteeeem!

:notsure:

(No offence to anyone here. It's just that SN is a precious resource. If not for that, many of us would be fucked)

I do not agree with the 200 posts minimum because if they are genuine it takes very long time to get them, if they are not genuine they are made quickly (enough to post 200 "I am sorry this happened to you" without reading) and can be done by anyone, regardless of their intentions here.

However I agree with the general suggestion of being more cautious.

Checking the thread story before giving links could be a good option.
Also, maybe put on rules thet surces can only be given by moderators or following previous chevk - however I am afraid it will give moderators too much work.

I agree that more caution need to be taken. Especially with sources getting nuked. My suggestion honestly is that before just sending a member a link, get to know them a little first.

As long as SN sources exist then pro suffering people will find ways to take them down, it's just the reality, and anyway I'm pretty sure that people could possibly find sources by searching on their own without asking someone. Eventually SN won't likely be avaliable at all, if it's not now and it's just the way that things are in this anti suicide society where people are expected to suffer endlessly. The people who want to remove reliable suicide method options certainly disgust me.

But no amount of "caution" on this website will ever change anything and the fact is that most accounts come here to find out about methods, they don't want or need to post anything else. And not everyone wants to share details about their life, expecting people to would be a privacy concern, some people just want to find out how to die, a lot of these desperate people have debilitating chronic illnesses, it may be easy for you to make 200 posts but not everyone can do that especially those who are likely the most desperate.
