  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Long story short. I've tried paracet od which led to hospitalization and immense pain. I've tried suspension hanging but fell onto my side when unconscious (I think). I've thought about puncturing my abdomen or getting the hangmans fracture but those are both too difficult because of my survival instinct. I'm ordering pure helium this weekend if all else fails but my best shot right now is suspension hanging as it's not too scary. I don't have access to any drug, medication or expensive tools. What other (somewhat) peaceful methods are there? Everything is appreciated

That's the question we would all like to know lmao. N seems to be the go to, but super hard to come by. I hope you're all ok and you find a good reason to not ctb, but as a proponent of pro-choice, the PPH is stickied on the suicide discussion board. Has a lot of information.

Are inert gasses truly peaceful? I'm considering this method myself.

Apparently inert gasses are a very peaceful way to go from the information I've read. You need to do your own research from legitimate sources to find out for yourself though. Don't use the party time balloon helium, the canisters that can be purchased in shops or amazon as it's mixed with 20% oxygen or air.

[SUBJECT] What is the most peaceful way to die
Everyone has a different understanding of what peaceful means. For me personally, the most peaceful method is a self inflicted GSW to the head, which will be my future method, alongside the ingestion of SA.

This is the way I'm going to ctb. Of everything I've explored, apart from N, it's as peaceful as they come. Look at PPH and also Five Last Acts, both on this site. The last one is my preferred read. Very reassuring.

@repan inert gas is very peaceful, takes a bit of planning and getting the right equipment though. If you are in a position to do that, it will be non-violent and quick.

So sorry you have already suffered with failed attempts. I've heard that paracetamol OD is agony. Kind of frightening because I suspect we've all considered it.

That's the awful part I'm afraid. Think we grow up believing it's actually quite easy (and painless) to kill yourself- hearing about the number of celebrity accidental deaths just by taking some pills. Only when you get older do you find out how potent and hard to get those pills are.

Afraid I can't add to what others have said. We're all searching for that holy grail of a quick, reliable and painless exit...

I would however reiterate what 'Endex' said- make sure it is pure helium if you intend to go this route- I've heard that they do mix oxygen in with it sometimes to render it useless for cbt.

Not to criticise/mock or have a go at you- I think suicide isn't an easy thing to achieve but- seeing as you have had a few failed attempts, I would definitely research whatever method you decide on thoroughly. Not to say that this will guarantee a successful attempt but it's got to help.

It's so cruel that we have to resort to things that could potentially make things so much worse with long term health problems but, sadly that's the reality of it. I wish you all the best in whatever you decide.

I'm going to try suspension hanging tonight. It all depends on the outcome of 1 thing. Ill use a chair to stop myself from falling, if I find this an unfit plan I'll wait for the helium. It's a rental, huge tank & medical grade. Due to the fact that it's pure it cannot be bought, only rented for 3 days. That's luckily plenty. Hopefully plan A, B or C works, I don't have much other options.

Helium sounds like a good option with less pain (if any).

Your body creates the feeling of suffocation when high levels co2 are detected in your blood. The buildup of co2 is not possible when inhaling a pure inert gass since there is no oxygen mixed content. Therefore your body can't detect the gass and it feels just like breathing normal oxygen as you drift to sleep. This should only take a few deep breaths and is an amazing method if you have everything you need. Be aware, if it fails or you're found before your brain dies you can end up with severe brain damage.

I do envy those with the courage for hanging, I have never attempted as I would fear it going wrong in some way. I hope that in whatever happens, you find relief from your suffering. Best wishes.

Im going to try within an hour as soon as I'm alone. It definitely takes courage and I lack that right now wich might make me fail. Suspension hanging if done is quick though. You can somewhat breathe but last time I could feel the veins in my head struggling.. Not very pleasant. Thank you for the good wishes, I wish you well. We'll see if I can do it.
