there was an article about a extreme fruitarian who died. like that can't be comfortable at all?? one must feel so weak and awful all the time, they'd have to have a severe mental disorder to be able to stick with it so long that they die..

i think methods in that realm are classified as non-methods in the megathread here

SI alone is hardwired into your body, the need for food and water even more so. Denying something so fundamental is going to take a pretty severe toll before you die

As a chronically ill, malnutritioned person who nearly died... uh. It's bad. Do not attempt.

It will be absolute hell. That's if you can somehow mute your primal, primitive urge to stuff whatever you can in your gob to stay alive. Immense pain to be expected as you slowly grow weaker and weaker; be prepared to lay crippled urinating and defecating upon yourself long before you end up dying as your body begins to eat itself alive.

Perhaps the worst method there is, if it can even be called that.

I had an eating disorder when I was younger and in my memories it was not painful to starve. After a few days your body gets used to it, eventually you feel weaker and weaker and want to sleep more and more. You feel cold. And eventually pass out. I'd do it again as a method if my other health problem allowed me to but it's not possible.

There was a post recently about a young woman who died like that, police found her and it looked like she was sleeping under a blanket.

I'd rather die by not drinking any water and any liquids for weeks than to die by starvation.

I went for 38 days without food, but continued to drink water. For me the hunger never went away. I felt bad physically and mentally, but many of the symptoms that people have described I didn't experience (vomiting, muscle spasms, etc). I finally gave up because I felt like it wasn't going to work. I sit here now wondering what would have happened if I would have stuck with it longer. If you go back in my history of posts you can get a more detailed account…sorry I don't know how to post links!

That definitely depends on a lot of things about your body. I had the same experience as a kid/teen. Starving as an adult? Much different. The more you age, the worse it's going to get, until you reach elderly status because at that point it's like aging backwards.

Many people who have "peacefully" died of starvation had already damaged their brain enough so they were able to dissociate away from the torture. Homeless people use drugs and alcohol to self-medicate for a reason.

I myself dissociated so bad that months went by feeling like weeks. When I was active, I passed out after any barely-strenous activity. That included going to the bathroom, so be ready to wear a diaper if you go this route. 🤷‍♂️
