The question is, "How would you choose to survive/die in a killing game?"
It's a hypothetical I love to bring up, especially as an avid fan of both of these games. Btw, I dunno how to feel about Danganronpa 2x2 lol, I think SDR2 was perfectly fine. I'd rather have spin-offs being put out, or a game to substitute the Danganronpa anime (I hate the Danganronpa anime, sorry.) Also Keiji Shinogi is so
+ I used to have a big crush on Hajime Hinata
Some context for non-players, with as little spoilers as possible:
the gist of both of these games (danganronpa/YTTD) is basically you and about 15 or 16 other people (it's mostly a bunch of highschoolers or college/uni students, and 1 or 2 adults) are kidnapped and forced to play a game where they must ascend to different "rounds" of the game which requires 1 or 2 participants' death that is decided by majority vote. It's basically survival of the fittest + playing detective. In Danganronpa, any participant may be murdered by another participant, and it's the responsibility for the majority to find and vote out the killer. In YTTD, everybody is given a set of cards that assign them their roles, and it's the responsibility of the majority to find and vote out a major card holder.
If the majority fails, they die and the killer/cardholder is allowed to leave; if the majority succeeds, only the killer/cardholder will be executed, and the majority move on to the next round of the game until 3 participants remain, who then are allowed to leave the game. Suicide is possible, but it's more of a diversion or a thwart to the investigations. Living conditions are secure, with a lifetime amount of food and clothing (in Danganronpa, at least), but the games generally want to egg you on to kill another person or be killed as a form of entertainment or elimination process, so suicide isn't a common occurrence.
For anyone interested in actually playing these games, PLEASE DO!!!!!! Although YTTD is free to play but incomplete
