Hello,
What actually happens to our phones after someone CTB ?
My friend died by suicide exactly one month ago, and I was called in by the police two weeks later. I didn't have much to add, but they told me they were trying to unlock her phone to maybe understand why she did it.
She had an iPhone, and they said they couldn't force the phone open, and that Apple wouldn't help.
So… how is it that sometimes investigators still manage to log into accounts or websites after someone passes? I don't really understand how that works — I'm not tech-savvy.
And now I keep wondering: is it even possible to "leave" without having your privacy invaded? Can someone really rest in peace like that?
