I cut 4 scars on my right arm on Monday evening and on Wednesday I went into a hot tub for I think about 15 minutes in total throughout the afternoon (10 and 5 minutes respectively). How does that affect the healing of the scars? Does the hot water make them scar clearer or make it heal better? Right now it just looks like how it usually does at this stage but cleaner. Looked a little purple when I was getting out of my swimsuit though, don't know if that means anything. Also does chlorine pool water and 5 minutes in a sauna do anything aswell? I was wearing a long sleeved swimsuit, the kind surfers wear, so the scars would be soaked for the roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes I was at the pool for.
First off, they haven't scarred yet. They should still be in the early parts of healing. Secondly, hot tubs are filled with bacteria and germs, and hot water can cause wounds to become inflamed and damage tissue (though I don't know if the hot tub water is hot enough for that to be of any concern). You really should not have gone to the hot tub if your cuts are still healing. I feel like this is basic common sense. Why would you think that hot tub water would make your cuts heal better? You shouldn't be going to a hot tub, going to a sauna, etc if your cuts are still in the middle of healing. All of these activities should have been avoided for 2 weeks after injury, if not, longer depending on how deep your cuts are.

I wasn't trying to make them heal, that's why I was asking incase the hot water made the healing process speed up so the scarring would be less. Also I don't think this is common sense as if it was then I would've easily been able to find articles on Google beforehand.
