I asked a question on City-Data forums "Why are suicides condemned more than homicides" and saw this response?

This person appear to me as if they are angry with themselves more and they pretend to be angry with others so as to not admit to themselves how much they hate themselves. It seems to me that this person knows that they wouldn't be strong enough to go through with suicide and are scared of suicide, so they are angry with themselves and think of themselves as weak, but they don't want to admit that so they project and instead are telling themselves that it's not them who is weak but rather people who go through with suicide. They convince themselves that suicidal people are weak and they project their anger at themself instead onto the suicidal people, because it's easier. They are afraid of facing suicide themselves and think they would never be strong enough for it so instead of dealing with it which would require them to be brave, they tell themselves that suicidal people are selfish(which would mean that they themselves are not selfish but rather care about those in their life and are also self righteous) and weak, because it's easier to hate and be angry at someone else then themselves, because then they can tell themselves that someone else is the problem and not them. In short, this is a scared and not a very intelligent or sharp it seems person, who doesn't know how to face dark and scary parts of life and reality.

I don't listen to those kind of people, it's just a waste of time, I could better spend that time reading some philosophy books or something of the sort and engage with someone/something more willing to face the truth and be brave and I actually grow as a person, mentally and emotionally.
"Suicide does not solve anything. It is a selfish act that ultimately hurts everyone you know."
He says it hurts those that know you, but it doesn't take into account how hurt, or what hurt the suicidal person. Pro-lifers/anti-choicers always talk about how suicide affects others, but nobody talks about how their behaviour, or mistreatment affects a suicidal person in the first place. In fact some people are pushed into suicide because of others - like in case(s) of bullying. They never think about this though - it's always about them.
Exactly, this! I fully agree. Prolifers are always talking about how it affects others and never talk about the pain and suffering a suicidal person is in. It's always about them. And then they call suicidal people "selfish". Prolifers are the ones that are selfish! Always were.
Some people have never experienced being suicidal so they don't know what the hell they're talking about since they've only seen it from one side. If your opinion coincides with the way society feels then there's no reason to be informed.
The part about it "accomplishing nothing" is objectively wrong though, whether you like it or not it does accomplish a lot.
I agree with this too, suicide can accomplish a lot.
