  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I find it ironic how people will claim that 'threatening' to ctb ie telling someone close to you that you want/plan to ctb is 'manipulative' or 'abusive'(I know I've been accused of this anyway) or just 'attention seeking', yet then when someone actually does ctb everyone suddenly cares and thinks it's a heartbreaking tragedy etc etc.
Yeah you cannot win, I guess.
What does she want to manipulate him into doing?
She had anorexia, and has BPD and substance issues so Freud's idea of not being able to understand women times a million. He has run into trouble cos he would have to take off work to look after her and I wonder if that is part of the manipulation.

I'm gonna quote House M.D for my answer: "Almost dying changes nothing. Dying changes everything."
It might not be inherently manipulative, but it's indeed useless. One of my worst fears is failing suicide and having to deal with the thought of what others think of me; do they think I'm manipulative, attention seeking, a coward? Those things, nobody close to you thinks that once you actually die, because they're too busy grieving/would feel guilty to think those things. Plus, even if they did, I wouldn't have to know because I would be dead.

I generally don't think it's manipulative because to get this far to even want to attempt (even if it's not a real attempt) means something in somebodies life is clearly not working out and they're very very desperate. It's not a light-hearted thing to do.

Trust me, I would know even though I didn't plan on anyone to find me but I clearly didn't take enough.
