I have to wait and I'm worried I might lose it at some point and give away my plans to ctb. What do you normally give yourself time to do to distract yourself from any impulsive/unwanted behaviours? Suggestions appreciated, I only want to survive this month if I can.

Is there a book that you'd like to read? I find that I am much more introspective and socially restrained when my mind is focused on a good book. I recommend something that holds your attention such as a mystery or a dystopian novel. :)

Oh I love books but I've only read stuff in the nonfiction genre. I wouldn't really know where to start if I'm being honest with you. The material I usually read seems a bit too intimidating for my tastes at the moment. Any recommendations? I would try.
nothing. my life is bad and painful 24/7
I relate. What makes it so painful in your case?

I like mystery books by Lisa Jewell, Ruth Ware, and Tana Fench. They hold my attention well. Try _Then She Was Gone_ by Jewell or _In a Dark, Dark Wood_ by Ware.

uncertainty in relationships and loneliness, housing insecurity, food insecurity, no job, no network, debt. to name a few.

Since March, I've been able to get distracted by only one thing: a video game. Specifically Animal Crossing New Horizons. Maybe silly, but I don't care. I've always been a gamer, but I was just apathetic to everything except that for some reason. I've played it to the point of obsession, collecting all the stuff and designing everything I can. And I'm completely fine with that, because it helped me survive this hell year, and it gave me something to look forward to every day. When I'm focused on the game, I'm not able to dwell on the bad stuff so much.

Alcohol, porn and video games. When I'm not very drunk I like to program, emulate old software and other nerdy stuff. Maybe it's a beginning of addiction but I don't care since I don't plan to live with it anyway.

A computer is the best distraction in my opinion, so many things to do like programming, making websites, playing games, watching videos, making videos, etc

It's the only thing that makes my life bearable.

I'll keep an eye. I mostly pirate ebooks on websites like genesis. Mostly educational. Haven't given much thought into fiction when it comes to books, which might be weird for most as I have little to no experience with fiction despite being an avid reader for so many years. But I would be lying if I said I haven't read a novel. Not so much I can remember but spending six months in the psych ward can do many things for you I suppose. But admittedly, can't say I didn't enjoy reading them.
I distract myself with this site, video games, podcasts, tv shows and a lot of YouTube. What kinds of things are you in to?
I use to be a gamer back in the days but not so much now. I personally don't like the modernist graphics maniacs taking over the industry with little story imperatives. Games like final fantasy xii and persona 3 were really worth time. But my interests got exhausted by age. I mostly listen to music and browse the internet for anything interesting to read in the sphere of philosophy. I also like reading and joining LGBT related topics.

I like to go outside a little bit, somewhere quiet like the cemetery. I just look forward to sleep really, but I do look after my cat. I think music is a nice way to relax, even know tinnitus stops me enjoying headphones.

I'm constantly on YouTube, I have around 600 channels that I subbed to. I also just love discovering underground music but I haven't been able to listen to anything in months because of my depression, I have no motivation to do anything...
