im going to ctb very soon and i wanna know what yall think happens after death in your opinion
even if they were ever able to make an exact copy of your brain neuron by neuron and the connections between them that copy brain wouldn't be you .you wouldn't be thinking out of both brains at the same time . so that makes it even more certain that what i am is only this brain and after this brain dies then i won't ever exist again. after Death is non-existence foreverAbsolute nothingness. The nothingness that was there before your birth will be the same nothingness after your death. I don't believe in reincarnation because I think consciousness arises from our brain, and once our brain dies our entire identity and self goes with it. It's hardly possible to have an exact clone of our brain be born again into the world. Who we are right now was already rare enough of a concoction upon conception. I don't believe in heaven or hell either, because I don't believe there is a God. So process of elimination says we cease to exist at all.
Yep exactly, I've thought this through extensively because I wanted to make sure I never come back.even if they were ever able to make an exact copy of your brain neuron by neuron and the connections between them that copy brain wouldn't be you .you wouldn't be thinking out of both brains at the same time . so that makes it even more certain that what i am is only this brain and after this brain dies then i won't ever exist again. after Death is non-existence forever
Omg me too! I see non-existence as perfection too. The best we could all ask for, no pain, no pleasure, but no disappointment that there's no pleasure because we don't exist. It's ultimately the most peaceful aspect.Death is just permanent non existence. At least that's the view that currently has evidence leading to it unlike religious ideas or reincarnation and so forth as those are just human made concepts designed to try and avert people from the fear of being permanently non existent (I personally never understood as to why people have this fear as I see permanent non existence as perfection)
I'm a Christian too. I believe there is both. I just hope I get neither. No worries, I plan to ctb in heaven or he'll too! I'll find a way out!Well i was an atheist for several years even in my suicide attempt i believed death would be just nothingness, but i became a christian so i do think there is a heaven and hell
Some part of what defines you cease to exist (or in other words complexity decreases 'vastly'). Some parts ("your affect") stays, like your writings, your image in people who know you, your contributions etc. Your mind does not. So there is no you to perceive themself anymore.I believe there is a collective consciousness that emanates through all of us. So we die as an individual but still exist as part of the whole.
I have never understood the fear of non-existence either. But once, while discussing with a friend, she replied that she will never be able to accept the total end of everything, because this would mean that we are just walking flesh. And he added that we are much more and I have to come to terms with it and with my statements I offend those who created us with love, giving us this life.Death is just permanent non existence. At least that's the view that currently has evidence leading to it unlike religious ideas or reincarnation and so forth as those are just human made concepts designed to try and avert people from the fear of being permanently non existent (I personally never understood as to why people have this fear as I see permanent non existence as perfection)
Eternal peace. A place of rest - away from the hellfire of lifeim going to ctb very soon and i wanna know what yall think happens after death in your opinion
The human ego is absolutely insane. At the end of the day, we are nothing more than just walking flesh. Humans love to think that they're oh so important but they really aren't.I have never understood the fear of non-existence either. But once, while discussing with a friend, she replied that she will never be able to accept the total end of everything, because this would mean that we are just walking flesh. And he added that we are much more and I have to come to terms with it and with my statements I offend those who created us with love, giving us this life.
Ditto, I couldn't have worded my opinion better!Absolute nothingness.
I Felt this on ketamine. We were all one as energyI believe there is a collective consciousness that emanates through all of us. So we die as an individual but still exist as part of the whole.
How did you get this information? You disappear forever. Lololol...I dunno...I was told by some higher power that I have a soul and He made mention of like "this lifetime"...and so I honestly think life goes on and you get reincarnated or something. I don't believe in heaven and hell. You should watch Death Parade...
