I want to CTB before the end of this week and I was sure I was going to use this method, but from what I can see it has a low success rate and is painful. The only issue is I dont have access to any form of poison or anything I could use to overdose, there are no tall buildings in my area and hanging just terrifies me. If anyone has any suggestions or advice id appreciate it. Also do I need more time to plan?

It's not particularly effective.

I would suggest you give yourself more time to plan.

There's plenty of methods on here, look around and see if any of them could help you and/or your situation.

May I ask why you had plans to do it before the end of this week? Why is that deadline there?

Horrible method. I have to be blunt with you. I would rather live then cut my wrists to death.

I have a big scar on my wrist from a failed attempt. Had to go to hospital to get stitched up. It didn't work for me.

Cutting wrists is a terrible way to try and die, it will just fail, both that method and overdosing are well known not to be recommended for a successful suicide. All that anyone can do with methods is do their own research to decide what is best for themselves, other people cannot decide for you, it has to be a personal decision choosing a method and there are just no easy answers to this. Suicide isn't straightforward as after all we exist in a society that restricts reliable method options.

Well, I would suggest you give yourself the patience and the time to look into other methods, even if it means delaying the process. You don't want it to be painful, you don't want it to last for hours where you're just suffering, and you don't want it to be impulsive.

Have you cut yourself in the past?

i while ago I used to self harm, but never anything major. but i do know that i have a high pain tolerance cause i cut halway through both my palms by accident when climbing, breaking bones e.t.c. . i wouldnt consider this method but there is really nothing else i can think and ive been thinking about this for months.

It's a pretty brutal way to die and it's not very effective, as everyone else has said. And you've been thinking about the method for months, or just the general suicidal ideation? (Just asking for clarification, as I don't know what you mean.)

What was your plan? Did you plan to take pain medication or something?

Jumping is also a pretty brutal method if it ends up failing, as well.

It's really hard for me to suggest anything, counting I don't know your situation or the resources you have available.

Yes it is noticeable but you find ways to hide it like wearing a watch. The reason I went to the hospital is because I was afraid that possibly my hand would not function. No nerve damage luckily. I went deep too. It was a painful experience but when you are determined you will do almost anything. Not something I am proud of. I have been driven to all this because of complicated medical issues which is a real world thing and not just I am feeling lonely sort of thing.

If this graph is accurate, it speaks volumes as to the efficacy of cutting:

1.2% is apparently the rate of success. I would have thought it higher, but it known to be particularly ineffective.

To me, cutting is an attempt more of crisis than determination. It's very easy to grab a blade and cut ones wrists, and it's not hard to stop the bleeding with a simple tourniquet.

in my opinion blades are really slippery when covered in blood, and there will be a lot of blood which will make things incredibly tricky.i wouldn't if i were you but to each their own.

Are you afraid of pain?
There's always bitting your tongue....
Or choking. either on food.
make it seem like it was not suspicious? idk
make sure there's no certified first aid people near though...

I hope you can continue to live. and not ctb...
can i ask, why you want to ctb?

And yes, i'd suggest more time to plan..

I highly recommend reading PPH, It's in the sticky threads. It's listing every peaceful method you can ctb with and classifying them according to reliability and peacefulness. I tried to ctb by blood loss and it wasn't that reliable. You don't want to be left with a big scar or unfunctioning hand either.

I didn't cut my wrists, I drew 3 liters of my blood with syringes and luckily survived without permanent damage.

I cannot definitively suggest an option, but I do recommend against cutting as a method. I don't know how viable this is, but I recently discovered that mixing Mr. Clean multi-purpose solution and windex can lead to toxic, possibly fatal fumes. I'll add a pic of the specific Mr. Clean product since there are so many types of multi-purpose cleaners out there. The windex is just normal windex. Both are easily obtainable and won't cause any suspicion hen purchased. I do suggest that you do some more research should you decide to see this as a potential option, as I'm not sure of the succes rate or how painful it is when carried out. I will also be doing my own research. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you find peace in whatever you choose to do.

I suggest to stab yourself in the neck instead, it's probably just as painful but if you hit your neck artery you will die, unlike if you were to cut your wrist.

You could do nerve damage and your hands could lose their function, people have died but from the pictures I have seen online, their cuts were VERY deep. It's definitely not an easy thing to do.
