Just finished 'Eileen' by Ottessa Moshfegh.
Before that 'Sharp Objects' by Gillian Flyn followed by the tv series.
also Shirley Jackson's Haunting of Hill House.
All with depressed/isolated female protagonists because relatability is comforting to me rn lol.

i've been reading The Fox Woman by Kij Johnson. it's about a young fox who puts a human under a spell so he'll think she's human and love her, and i think it's an interesting read.

I'm adding it to my "want to read" list.

I'm currently reading "The Beautiful Maddening" by Shea Ernshaw.

From the library I got a book about suicide. I haven't read it a lot, because I'm not a big book reader and the book is in Finnish, a language I'm not very good at reading.

The Conference of the Birds by Farid ud din Attar. I already read it a long time ago but I recently started casually rereading it, I kinda like spiritual journeys and the poetical prose

This thread. But I might stop, it feels a bit long. Seriously though, I've always been too depressed to read meaningfully. Which is silly maybe, but I just don't have the attention span. And I noticed when I did try to read, it was just to be able to tell people that I was reading *insert highbrow book*.

The Lesser Dead by Christopher Buehlman. One of my favorite authors. Clear, direct, well-flowing prose and one of the best author's at writing tension. Would also recommend his horror-medieval fantasy Between Two Fires and his fantasy series The Blacktongue Thief

Nothing, sadly, but I plan to read The Count of Monte Cristo soon... if my "mood" allows it!

I understand you, I have many periods when I can't read because of depression...

Life 3.0 by Max Tegmark. All it's done is made me realise how little I care about the future.

Also Hesse's Steppenwolf.

That is on my list to read. It is such an influential book.

Right now, I am listening to an audiobook of the Earthsea series by Ursula K. Le Guin.
