What actually helps agains chronic suicidal ideation?

i logically understand there are ways for life to get better, ive tried and it only had helped short term and just not been sustainable, it just feels like an endless loop of trying and failing over and over again which isn't a real solution. The only thing that seems to consistently help me is actually openly talking about it, which i can only in places like here

Fixing the underlying causes. Of course, that isn't necessarily possible. I have a combination of causes which make me suicidal. For example, I have acne scars. They make me feel terrible about my physical appearance and if I spend a lot of money maybe I can reduce their appearance by some percentage, but they can't really be fixed. I'm stuck with them until I die, and they will always make me want to die.

I feel the same. Though honestly a bunch of money would probably heal me right now. I also need for the US government to calm down.

Reaching for help is a big hurdle for me. 988 doesn't really do anything :/ But I can at least answer my psychiatrist checkup questionnaire next week with how bad I've been feeling and not back down on it afterwards. I don't know about therapy but I'd like stronger meds...
