Hi all,

I didn't really think about that earlier, but as I vape and DIY my vape juice, I have some of what vapers call "double strong". Basically it's just propylene glycol with nicotine at 200mg/ml. You use it by diluting a small amount of it in a neutral base (neutral mean no nicotine, only propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine) to reach the final nicotined base that suits your needs (usually people like 3mg/ml to 9mg/ml nicotine in their juice).

I know that at very (very very) high levels, you can overdose nicotine. On Wikipedia you can read
[...]the 2013 review suggests that the lower limit causing fatal outcomes is 500–1000 mg of ingested nicotine, corresponding to 6.5–13 mg/kg orally.[20]

I weight about 75kg. This means I would need 975mg of nicotine to ingest. Let's say 1000mg. If I drink only 5ml of the double strong, I have those 1000mg. But what would happen? Will I throw up? Will I feel pain before I lose consciousness or die?

Does anyone ever attempted CTB this way?

A search for nicotine will find numerous existing threads exploring this topic.

As a method it's very unpleasant and not recommended.

Isn't it more useful to just have multiple threads discussing these things than threads with a question and a direction to the search function? Because eventually when searching people will have to scroll through tons of threads suggesting to look through the search function...

Brilliant insight. Very true , eventually this site will be just be threads with someone asking a question and then being directed to the search function. And then that person would go scroll through pages like that with someone asking a question and then directing to the search function.

Yes and sometimes an old thread can grow to so many pages it's difficult to look through. If you start your own thread sometimes someone will provide the answer for you so you don't have to read through all threads and pages(sometimes hundreds of pages). I like both options to search and to ask questions have them answered and new threads too.

Some of us have questions and sometimes a human member here can answer it.

Sorry I didn't use the search function. I never saw any thread about nicotine and I assumed, stupidly, that there was nothing about it. My apologies.

I will search now, hoping to get answers. Sorry again.

You can ask questions or start a new thread . Sometimes you can narrow a topic more specific to your question and get live detailed help here from members who are all trying to answer your question as the OP. You can't get that kind of attention to your question posting at the end of a 20 page thread. Nobody will even see your question at the end of a 20 page thread. A Lot of people will see it if your specific question is posted in a new thread and you are the OP.

I suppose the idea is that seeing other people directed to the search function will make new members more likely to also use it rather than start their own new threads with already-covered questions. That's not to say that sometimes a new thread can't have enough of a new angle on an old topic that it isn't warranted. But the idea of not posting on larger existing threads because your question won't be noticed is an erroneous one. Firstly, new activity on an old thread will bring it back to the front of the topic list. And secondly, many users use the watch feature on threads which interest them (or auto-watch threads they respond to) and so will receive notifications of a new post or response in an existing thread.

I think a balance between searching for existing information, and posting new questions should be aimed for. And certainly right now there seem to be an awful lot of people doing a lot of the latter, and it tends to clutter things up. Also, it means that existing, comprehensive responses on the existing threads don't get the attention they deserve, because members don't search for nor are they directed back to those threads as a source of information.

Just my view.

No need to apologise, it's just meant as a suggestion to make things easier.
