Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

DiscussionWere you ever rejected in making a SaSu account?

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser.
When registering, did y'all initially get rejected before trying again being accepted? I'm just kinda curious now if this happens often LOL, I wanna hear your experiences. I also don't exactly remember how I registered and got accepted here, my brain has blocked my memories from that period of time because something traumatic happened
So to say that most members were just accepted first try? I think I was as well, don't really remember. Either way, I guess that answers my question already, the answer being : it doesn't happen often
And so my curiosity dies TT I must now go find some other topic to entertain
First attempt rejected, second approved.
I think because I had a VPN enabled when they came round to approving my account.
(I turned it off when registering but turned it back on afterwards whilst then waiting for approval. I left it off for the second attempt until the account was approved).
Just a guess, I don't know for sure since no reason was given, but not using a VPN is made clear in the registration instructions they provide.

I was rejected 3 times, but I didn't give up. I couldn't figure out how to get here from a blocked country, but I wrote to support and a kind person explained it to me. After registering, I was as happy as if I had passed an important exam.

It doesn't answer your question at all. This is a case of survivorship bias: Only those of us who had accounts approved can answer this, so of course people will say yes--even if it took them more than once.
The people who were denied once [or twice or thrice or more] and never tried again can't answer. It could be 1% of applications, it could be 99%. But you can't ever gain an accurate answer from just approved members answering this question.

Well yes but.. my question was how many approved members were initially rejected TT I don't count non-members in my question, and I was just considering what amerie said. I just meant that they answered my question in the literal sense. And also, I was just curious about the experiences of other members here, I'm really not trying to get a statistic of any sorts. Just was curious for SaSu members' stories

I was rejected the first time. I put "I wanna die" for why are you joining the forum. Next time I tried I wrote down my whole backstory and basically just vented about everything. Got accepted

Just checked my old emails from when I joined (2022) .
I was accepted immediately . I don't see any rejection emails .
I imagine I was very sad and depressed when I signed up , and felt a strong urge to communicate how desperately and strongly I wanted to cease to exist .

I read that someone got rejected, so they just lied about their intentions next time and got accepted. He said mods didn't like what he put into the "reasons for joining" box. There's a reason lying was invented. It can open doors truth cannot.
Speaking of opening doors, it's really hard to get inside old houses when you are 6'5 and the houses were made for short people. Thankfully modern houses can fit even giant people.

I'm new here but i tried to join a few months ago but got rejected as i think that when writing your reason for wanting to join i talked more about someone i cared for CTB than i did about myself .
This time i wrote more about me and the honest reasons for wanting to join the site.
The first rejection made me feel quite shitty but in hindsight writing about someone else rather than your own reason for wanting to join the sight is quite redundant, so i understand why i got rejected....assuming thats the correct reason for the rejection as only the Mod who decided knows the reason :)

I got in on the first time using complete fiction, I put a few paragraphs in, and even said my intentions were to "read about my method and get it right once and for all" (which weren't completely true either).
Later I corrected the fiction (feeling lonely, etc) and somehow things turned out quite well.
I remember signing up and thinking of it like a job application. I was sweating under the stress because I did not want to be rejected. "You WILL be rejected if your answer is vague, lazy, or immature." I remember reading that and the "WILL" yelling at me scared me. So, I was formal about it I didn't vent or anything and spent time editing and rereading it. I was accepted right away, and I was actually shocked at how fast it happened.

I think the capitals are too harsh, "quality applications only" would have been a bit better imo, since it also doesn't reveal too much.
Eg: that message made me write detailed, realistic, and serious fiction, since I didn't think my recount of reality would be detailed or good enough (I posted in an About Me thread some details)
No, but my original account was banned for reasons unknown and they refused to overturn it. I'm not sure if my (many) tickets ever got through. This was with the old moderator team though.
Yes my first one cuz the reason i found out about sasu and wanted to like investigate (not for bad purposes) i still remeber the email i got back for like 3 or 4 days later
"We dont need more expectators". Kinda fair
So then I joined for not for the old purpose and tada im here so. Yay

I guess it depends on the reason you give. I explained my situation quite thoroughly and I got approved on the first try. And if you look in your account right now, the reason you gave to the moderators for joining the site is still displayed in your account.

I've even edited it after joining, from strengthening the narrative, to correcting it with the truth... idk if mods saw the edits tho (tho the mod I told did see the truth... I assumed the admin reads it vs mods, once I knew mods read it I got into correcting the fiction officially)

Me too, I'm actually happy because this is one of the only places where I've never been rejected. I fit right in. Not saying this is the almighty righteous space or anything but yeah.
