I'm probably going to CTB now that Trump has won the election. This is due to him destroying my rights as a trans person and his general overall policy. I'm disappointed in America how could we let this tyrant rule agin? it makes no sense. Anyway we will see over the next couple of days if i go or not. Will make a definitive post beforehand. I feel you, but please don't do anything impulsive. Absentee ballots still need to be counted and there will likely be an investigation into election fraud because of the high possibility of rigging. And even then, Trump isn't going to erase human rights overnight just because he became president again. There may be hope yet. That being said, I don't know your local situation, so it's hard to say what the impact will be on you personally. Your body your choice, but I'd encourage caution before deciding to CTB.

I wish you clarity and protection of your human rights.... Tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be 57. I led a really great 50 years-until I contracting Lyme Disease in 2017 and my life fell fully apart. I've been staving off CTB for 6 years. Watching Trump win this election stole the last glimmers of hope remaining. I don't know how much longer I can hold on. My plan is to go before the holidays. I wish I didn't have to go alone. The ethics around right-to-die are antiquated. Perhaps there will be a miracle.

I unfortunately may be right with you on that. My options are slim, and things were already not heading in my direction very well. I used to atleast have the hope and the love that i could atleast transition, that i grew to recognize the face in the mirror and now there comes the very real chance i will not even have this. If we cannot have a miracle then we atleast deserve peace in whatever forms from whatever is intended. I would rather go the way i am than have even that taken from me.

I don't like Trump, but trans rights have deteriorated more under Biden than any other president. He didn't do shit to protect trans people because there was no money in it for Dems. Same with Harris - had she won, not a god damn thing would have changed.
When it comes to trans and reproductive rights, the only course of action is to move to a state that supports them. You will always have protections in states like CA, NY, NJ, OR, WA, and several others.

I'm going to be dead in a couple months at most - trust me, if there is a problem, it's not me. You plan on being here longer, you find a solution.
But here's a slight hint as to why what I'm saying is true. Politics is about winning. Trump's SCOTUS nominees all voted to overturn Roe V Wade - something that potentially affects 50% of the population and that still wasn't enough for Harris to win. I don't care how vocal and loud the trans community is, 2%(ish) of the population is never going to saw anything more than the tightest of elections.
What I'm saying is a federal election will have minimal impact on both reproductive and trans rights. It's all coming down to the states. What the fuck has Biden done to stop all those red states from passing laws that decimated trans rights. Not a fucking thing.
This is coming from someone who has quite a few trans friends, a few who I love very much.

It's not at the federal level lgbtq rights are deteriorating in this country, it's at the state level. We've had a democratic president for 4 years, and things have only gotten worse.

This country is going into an era so dark that I could have only imagined it. I live in a red state that's already the worst in the country for trans issues, and Trump winning was kinda what I was waiting on to figure out if I'm going to be able to stick around or not. It's already so shitty here, having Trump in office is going to make it all worse and I don't want to be around to see it.
Fear is the easiest way to control people. I grew up in a cult and it took me a decade to understand that every person who was not in the cult was not out to kill me, drug me, rape me, etc. and could be a good person. And that was after I knew for a certainty that it was a cult.
