Well I today officially graduated group therapy. Been taking it for over a year

Which never thought I was gonna finish but here we are. Did it help somewhat? Not all it says is gonna help in every context of situation the ones I was able to really like is distress tolerance skill and emotianal disregulation.

Ofc dont mean one skill is gonna help takes a combination of all the skills. Am I a pro in this? Absolutely not; I still fail doing all these exercises. The team of therapists are really nice and supportive.

I wont lie theres also some skills that are kinda bunch of bull. Rn Im gonna proceed with individual therapy there's still a long road to go.

I'm happy with myself I was able to resist the urge to quit, theres times I thought of quitting all together cuz well being stuck for 2 and a half hours and 4 modules was very challenging.

This is my experience doesnt mean is going to be the same for everyone.

So yeah, I might thought of updating since I replied in a post about taking group therapy.

Good job dude, a year is no short feat.

If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious how the group sessions were organized - was it just a open discussion type of thing mediated by the therapist?

Mostly mediated, their was always 3 therapists, the leader, the co leader and observer.

At every beginning of each session was always a mindful exercise. Could be anything really, the focus was to keep ourselfs in the present moment for 3 minutes and dicuss of it helped of not and dedcribed how and what emotions we felt 1 to 5.

But mostly we just followed a module 's hey give you. Once you end one, you begin the other module.

And at the and we had assigments to do at home for practice.

Ofc they didnt expect for us to get it right everytime and we disscussed it.
