Weird sense of despair after getting out my hole where i have some motivation to move forward and yet still feels futile at the same time

I'm a 27m that's been a neet for 5 years, have a comp sci degree that's practically useless now because i retain none of the knowledge, start having my deep depression because of the realization that even if i start now i most likely wouldn't be hired do to high ageism where i'm from
So now i'm taking a lot of courses to feel productive also just to keep my mind off that hole again and yet still feels like this could be for nothing

I completely understand why you're worried about starting a little later. But honestly, I don't think your age will matter nearly as much as not having much experience. Of course, things might be different where you live, so I can only speak from my own experience with the job market.

One thing that might help is looking into freelance platforms. They can be a good way to get some real world experience. It can definitely feel a bit overwhelming at first, but it gets easier with time. As you build confidence and gain experience, it becomes easier to find a more stable job.

Yeah, i have taken some freelance jobs here and there and it really helped with my mental state just having something to do
