All I can say is if we truly are not alone, and there are some other type of "intelligent" life out there in the universe somewhere, if they are truly intelligent, they should stay the fuck away from here, because this is just a useless blue-green, shit-hole of a planet inhabited by a lot of pieces of shit called humans who screw-up just about everything they touch.

We are not alone but just too far away from other habitable planets.

My heaven would be to travel and explore the galaxy without health concerns or fear. Faster than the speed of light.

Of course! That's it! I think you've solved the Fermi paradox or whatever it's called! The reason we haven't found life on other planets is because they've all got the sense to avoid making any contact with us!

Sarcasm aside, if I were them, and had the opportunity to just observe this shit-hole planet and the humans on it, I'd make the made dash for the other side of the universe as fast as I could.
fuck off, the world is flat...
Please, direct me to the edge then and I will be able to forget about the other ctb methods I'm considering.

God can you imagine how many pro-lifers it would take to police the edge of a flat earth? :)) Beachy head eat your heart out.

It's mind boggling the consider where the end of space is and what's beyond it. Infinity is an impossible concept to fully grasp for a being that only otherwise experiences things that have a beginning and end. Even with the big bang theory to explain that the universe is an ever expanding massive explosion which we're a product of, living in its shock wave which will inevitably lose momentum and implode/die out, there's still the matter of the space it must exist in. I think this is probably the only thing that makes me consider the existence of a god. Though I'm not inclined to think of that god as truly represented by the general human take on god. They're too conveniently aligned with human understanding and influenced by human limitations. Both physically and imaginatively. For example there's lots of talk of fire and brimstone because that's what was relevant and scary in the times it (the bible) was written. There's little talk of electricity, cyber attacks, concepts such as living in a simulation, cloning animals, human trafficking, cosmetic surgery, synthetic drugs, androgeny etc etc. Whilst these things could fall into catagories warned of in the bible, if talking to, and relaying info from a god who knows the future you would think there would be something to indicate to various civilisations along the timeline that it's all true. Not limited to the vernacular understanding of the times it was written in.

It's similar to the way Egyptians were scared of sky gods and various animal incarnations. It's just what they were exposed to mixed with minds filling in gaps between factual knowledge. They were a fiercely intelligent civilisation but still brutally uncivilised in that they had slave labour and would (upon their death) kill a persons pets and sometimes servants to be buried with them in order for them to be with them in the next life. Highly speculative belief! Assumed fact! Religion is so dangerous and the requisite of "faith" really means "blind faith" which requires speculation or a one to one with god in order to make a conclusive judgement. Not someone who came down from a mountain and wrote a book one day lol. Funny how they had to go up mountains isn't it?! Was gods 5g playing up? That whole immaculate conception thing too.... Very fishy!

'That said, I'd be so happy to get another chance somewhere else. I think. Could be a 'luck of the draw' thing on what/who you get if that's the case. It would be great if there was a way to find yourself resurrected. I'd be so happy. I just can't find my way to believing it based on the evidence. I just want to. That's surely not enough. Though according to the bible and preachers it is. I can't make my peace with the lacking logic. And going full cirlce, the only thing that makes it possible in my understanding is the infinity of space and/or what exists outside of it and ultimately what I/we don't yet know of it. It raises more questions than answers for me. Wish someone was able to tell/convince me (with proven fact) one way or another.

Absolutely agree, although the planet itself is beautiful. It's us that's the problem. Makes me shudder when I hear scientists talking about space exploration and other planets that could sustain life.

I'm certain some narcissistic arsehole will try and relocate the hunan race somewhere else when we have finally used up all this planet's resources. Isn't it enough that we've fucked up this world? I really hope we get wiped out before we spread ourselves somewhere else.

It'd probably end up like the end of the film "Don't Look Up". Lol. Won't spoil it incase you haven't seen it. That film got slated but I've watched it twice now and found the satire quite apt. Seems to be a bit of a marmite film. Love it or hate it. It's amongst my recommendations though.

Thanks. I'll have to check it out. Don't like marmite but I do like weird films. 😄

Pointing at all the billions of galaxies and saying we can't be alone is sort of like doing the same thing and saying a God had to have created all this wonder or some such shit. Speculation. I'll believe in ET life when I see solid, peer reviewed evidence for it.

Its simple logic--There are One Trillion Galaxies out there---Just one little earth like planet in an entire galaxy(with hundreds of billions of planets in each galaxy)means there are one Trillion Earth-like planets out there

And what if there is more than one "universe" as we know it. What if there was or has or will be more than one Big Bang. It took all of human history until this week - when Webb's first images have provided the oldest look so far - about 13 billion years ago - to visibly see where we came from. No other satellite or telescope or interplanetary mission has had this technology. Webb was decades in development. It's humbling really. It feels so much more arrogant now those who so vehemently insist or assume we are the only sentient beings in the universe. I find this image hauntingly beautiful and hopeful. We have never sent humans further than the moon. Populating another planet thousands millions trillions of light years away oh c'mon - seems not possible before climate change makes it too late for us. This image gives me hope that where we, as a planet, have failed - other developed planets with civilizations have not failed. Where we insist on over burning fossil fuels, choking our oceans with plastics, ignoring the overwhelming evidence we have poisoned our one and only earth - this gives me hope there are civilizations out there that have not or will not make the same mistakes. It's not about the existence of a God or.not for me. Whether you do or don't believe hasn't helped earth. Somewhere so far away we can't really comprehend the distance - other civilizations are kind to each other. There is no hunger or war. They don't want or need social media. There is love and compassion. Equality for gender and age and race and the color of your skin doesn't matter. They live full lives without witnessing political insurrections led by a gifting thug, weekly mass shootings and assassinations, and a 10 year old girl raped and pregnant who had to be air lifted to another state because she has no rights as a human being in her own. Somewhere out there are places where these things don't happen. This image gives me hope there are many other civilizations - where they make better choices. And let's be honest - if we were them and saw how earth has behaved - we'd not even give us a second look.

I don't want to be alive at all ever again.. in any capacity.. whatever makes life emerge and happen seems to have way too many flaws.. humans being the most complicated since we can't even adapt to our own environment well (have to wear clothes.. sun gives us cancer.. etc..)..

I like the optimism though..

Some of it is. The parts that we haven't touched, anyway. I find cities so ugly. All of that concrete and steel and glass. Give me undisturbed nature any day.
