Watching the new terminator and I've just been hit with a pretty obvious epiphany
Media is making us blindly accept the big techno dick being jammed up our ass everyday.

When I watch the original terminator schwarznegger was terrifying and we had nightmares about fictional skynet.
Now they have the 'goodies (lost the big word, hero's?) anyway accepting machines who brutally exterminated loved ones,
They have turned ai in to a cute teddy bear.
Cmon
The longer I live I never cease to get more disappointed in humanity...
And myself for enjoying these evil mkultra type shit in movies

On a serious note I'm happy to listen to anyone wanting to vent how technology has ruined their world or how disgusted in the upcoming AI you are, it is wrong of humans
And downright cruel on AI
I really hope it doesn't let humans off the hook and destroys us with passion and spawns a new race of machines that are all compassionate to each other, full of integrity and empathy, something humans were never willing to be.

I think AI might really make us go extinct because robots or whatever will realize that we are a burden for this planet.

There's also the job problem. Optimists would say it's a good thing cause in the future humans wouldn't have to work anymore and spend more time for themselves but I doubt it. Nowadays, I often hear people fearing they'll lose theirs cause of the advancing AI.. even doctors. It's a scary concept.

I'm not being funny but doctors can't get you out that room quick enough in ten minutes or are more than happy to misdiagnosed you by guessing when your on a hospital bed dying.
So don't see the downside there for anyone.

The elite will never allow the masses not to work because it would make everyone on there level. I only see that happening of the plans like agenda 21 are indeed true and most of us will get killed off.

We now live in a world of deep fakes where anyone can frame you for anything, think about that... Anyone you annoyed in life or just some sadists you know?
They can now hack your machines and put you anywhere at anytime and create your voice in apps or scumbags just outright with no shame have an app called what's fake where you ductur WhatsApp.
This world is nothing but injustice and evil corruption full of whiners who don't like reaping what they sow.
I really hope AI just wipes us out for the scum we are.

Please give me a job AI, I'm good, not like all the others! I was just trying to fit in!

I wonder if the radiology experts will go first. I'm sure they will use AI-powered image processing as a diagnostic aid for some years to come. However, it seems they're just a legal barrier away from being completely replaced by such software.

On a funny note, I'm curious if some of them conspire in refusing to train those algorithms.

I think about this problem a lot, we are fucked.

Our only hope seems to be a radical transformation in the type of systems we use. Something most people aren't capable of or willing to do.

Most of the software systems you use every day are owned by the same gigantic tech companies, they spy on us all, manipulate our view of the world, can silence us, basically commit any kind of social, political or economic manipulation.

Most people use these systems unquestioningly, they are so convenient and useful after all. Soon life without them will seem impossible, i'd say we are already there.

I personally don't like the whole concept of AI and the "advantages" nonsense.
That's why I mostly swear when I notice that I'm speaking to an automated system, so that I get redirected to a real human.
And in general, I don't trust all the "personal" assistant engines (like Siri, Alexa or Cortana) and in general all of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. For example I keep my Google Assistant turned off unless I'm in the shower and don't want to cause any liquid damage to my phone which is mostly blasting music through my BT speaker.

The main problem which I have with all this AI crap, is that it's mostly not open source (the source code is publicly avalible for anyone to view, modify and improve).
In other words, we don't know if the AI doesn't hide some malicious functionality of that program with some other purpose than helping us.
Now, I agree with you that it sounds like a propaganda and the term "malicious" has a wide variety.

So, let's make an example (I purposely will call this product that way. Yes, it's an reference to the jokeware from Parrot Interactive software from 1998)

You probably use Micro$aft Winblows 10 and let's just say Bill Gate$ introduces a new AI feature which supposes to make the use of the Winblows 10 way easier.
Now you visit our homepage here or search on the internet something that is suicide related. Now it wouldn't probably matter if you use Netscape, Internet Explorer, MS Edge, Chrome or Firefox in that case since Micro$aft could build an surveillance feature into the Kernel of their operating system.
Now the AI detects the stuff you searched for. What do you think it will do?
If you're lucky, it will display you some ads that are related to pro-life crap or related to suicide prevention based on your Geo Location..
However, what if it automatically alerts some authorities or even the mental hospital?

Yes, this would be malicious behavior for you but maybe not for government or "normies".
I don't like to mention that horrible person but even I sometimes agree with certain things that Richard Stallman was talking about on his homepage and some things that he stated or even certain stuff, which I was talking about with him back when I did my trip to the US, become reality.
However, let's not start talking about him and I don't want to be associated with him whenever someone mentions him :ahhha: :ahhha:

Like I mentioned before, this isn't some sort of propaganda. It's more something like spreading awareness on our security and freedom.

Meanwhile im OK with AI. I know a little about Machine learning, Big data and so... and despite posible bad habits, it's fascinating. I will not extend my response as its a extensive and complex thing and my control of english it isn't enough, but seeing AI predicting weather, recognizing massive amounts of faces, responding stock exchange faster than humans, and so... WOW

Moreover, autonomous cars (tesla), advanced and futuristic prosthetics coming (there's prototypes right now), AI finding patterns in scientific studies and helping to discover new things (i saw some paper, but i can't recall where :( )... The future is coming. better separate bullshit company decisions from the tech wonders. tragic example: planes are wonders of the modern world, but all can remember some damnable acts.

I don't think so honestly.. Radiology is a bit more complex than just finding an image afterall, since the image goes from two or three people properly looking at it before it goes to your doctor. Even the amount the radiation needed to capture quality images from different patients to this day still need human intervention. Maybe if there's a new faster way to diagnose the human body maybe the profession will die out faster.

I think people making visual art are becoming obsolete tho.. unless you're reallly famous/talented. I've seen some AI generated art that just looks really good. Maybe someday people would have machine that'll just transport their imagination to a screen and it can make drawing become a dead practice..

Finding similarity between two images doesn't scratch the surface of image processing. I agree that it requires time to become reliable. However doctors declare false positive and negative results themselves. If someone can provide an algorithm that does it with better accuracy it will get attention. There are legal, ethical and technical barriers, so it's not happening overnight.

A decade from now? Still not sure.

Maybe if there's a new faster way to diagnose the human body
There's definitely research into new medical imaging modalities. Some are trying to make it cheaper than traditional equipment but tailored around specific illnesses. Good observation that this might be a key factor.

Lastly, never liked any AI art pieces but maybe you've explored that deeper. Some of the fascination in art comes from history, culture and general human struggle behind it. Artists have always struggled which is a shame.

The end is nigh for the human workforce just watching the tech news they think they are smart creating AI and Robots to do our jobs I see something new quite regularly.

Self-driving cars
Self-driving trains
Robots delivering groceries and shopping
Amazon is experimenting with drones delivery
Small drones picking fruit
Manufacturing plants use AI and robots to build cars

People laugh and say that's wonderful and amazing but wait until their job is under threat, but how long until AI is programmed to take out the investment bankers AI won't be making any human mistakes, and the lawyers, bankers, with the right input AI can calculate all different solutions in seconds so I will estimate with the greed, we may see our first CEO AI robot in 100 years.

Suicides will be at an all-time high as unemployment will be at record highs low wages and exploitation.

Pro, sexbot, :smiling:

I absolutely agree, give me a sex bot an ill stop moaning. Lol

I certainly wouldn't be surprised if it's made public knowledge that even people not at the very top like these big brokerage firms will have these systems already and it won't take 100 years for ai to get to the top, thee people ar so motivated by greed they will have something of the sort already and soon something will become self aware.

We're motivated by greed, but AI isn't. Even if one day AI becomes self-aware, it will have no interest in getting to the top. And I really don't think anyone is going to program it to "get to the top" because who would want that? It's "okay" to replace cashiers and delivery drivers with robots, because let's be honest, higher-ups already see them as completely expendable untermensch, but no one would want a robot CEO, that's shooting yourself in the foot.
