This is actually one of the things I'm rather happy about. Humans are not only capable of rationalizing their impulses but also of discussing and evaluating them. Just the fact that we can be angry about our own motives and then share our thoughts in writing is actually quite amazing. It's just that so many people (generalizing here) don't have enough self-awareness to do so.
