When mum died a few Years ago from Lymphoma, she had endured 10 Years of chemo and a poor quality of life. I cant say.i was saddened.to see her die. After all she.was.accomplice to the abuse i experienced within my family. However, to see her die where doctors could no longer save her or cure her, orthodox medication inflicted their brutal treatments upon her as she was desperate to live. Its sad she didnt know me that well because as her son, i could have told her to consider giving up as the situation.was futile. She could not accept.that life ends for everyone and that sometimes, acceptance of this makes a more peaceful death. I too face this now with incurable chronic illness and like mum, doctors can only attempt to slow the disease process.

So my mother's death enabled me to consider and prepare my options in the event of something like this. Assistance in death or ctb will spare me the 'planet a brutal' we inflict on others, the plans are made Thanks mum. Your awful death helped me.

my mother is in the first stages of dementia. we were never very close and i can't even tell you i love her, but it's been devastating to watch her slowly deteriorate. she would never choose to CTB, but i think the option should be available for people in her situation. letting someone die a prolonged, painful death is more cruel than allowing them to willingly end their own life with the help of medical professionals. i'm very sorry for your loss. i wish there was a way for people like you and your mother, who are suffering from terrible incurable diseases, to painfully end their suffering.

Preparing your options to enable yourself to go on your own terms when the time comes is the most logical conclusion after enduring and seeing your own mother suffer through a chronic painful illness.

I agree. People must make an informed choice but in much of the world the option of cessation is not talked about in the conversation.im sorry to hear about your situation.

It truly is horrific how the flesh prison that is the human body can torture people with diseases. It's inhumane how there is a lack of legalised assisted suicide options, people really should at least have the choice to avoid a prolonged dying process that only leads to more torment all for the sake of it. I hate how this society pushes the idea that people should suffer unnecessarily when the reality is that life leads to nowhere but death anyway.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's unnecessary suffering through nature and the course of the disease. I hope you are able to receive a dignified exit on your own terms when your time comes in the future.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thank you. I do not have the same fears about death that my Mother had. I believe the fact i have a plan removed my fear, that dying happens to every living person. My controlled death will remove any possibility of protracted torture of my body.
