So I went to A&E in July for what I thought was coronavirus but just turned out to be the regular flu after they tested me. They kept me there for a week and I got infatuated with an attractive nurse that mainly looked after me.

After getting discharged, I decided to ask for my medical records under the FOI request, knowing that all the names of the nurses/psychiatrists has to be on there (I got similar records from a mental health clinic).

Well I found her first and last name and sent her an Instagram/Facebook friend request along with a Snapchat message. I don't think she took it to well cause she blocked me..lol

I asked two of my friends and one says that's ****ing weird but the other one says I have to be confident and pursue the women I'm attracted to and face rejection as I did. I've had issues with self esteem in the past.

Should've talked to her face to face? It will be lot less creepy, I guess.

I don't think it's *that* creepy as long as you accept the rejection and don't try to pursue them further. Typically though, health care workers who have worked with you are pretty off limits in my mind

I can see how that would be concerning for her. It would've been a lot better if you had communicated with her about keeping contact rather than digging up her contact info like that.

Buddy I have made a fool of myself also. That is not socially acceptable. You need a reliable friend to show you which of your behaviours aren't appropriate or worse.
Find a good social worker whilst you're young.
Good luck.

I'd say no, that's not creepy, but otherwise I've done things that for me was okay, but that sounded very weird to others, especially to the girl I was attracted to. So, I don't think I have a good filter to judge whether what you did was creepy or not.

This has happened to me before and it has totally creeped me out no offense OP! I don't think you're a creep or anything like that, but you gotta just remember that as women we always are living with the fear of violence from men to some degree, most of us have probably experienced some form of violence at the hands of men at some point in our lives so it's totally understandable why she might have gotten freaked out and felt the need to block you

Your friend is right about being confident and pursuing whoever you're attracted to even if you may face rejection at times. However, this wasn't the right way to go about doing it.

Looking up her full name and then looking up all her social media accounts is creepy and it sets off red flags. I don't blame her for blocking you. I would too if I suddenly had friend requests on all my social media accounts. I would feel a bit violated and be worried that I have a stalker.

I would if they went to the effort of tracking down my home address and sent me a bouquet of roses.

The way you went about finding her information does seem kind of creepy even if you didn't mean it that way. It would have been better to just talk to her while you were still there. If she wasn't attracted to you while tending to you and giving you care then it probably wasn't meant to be anyway. Unfortunately, it seems like this ship has sailed...

I understand the confusion with autism as im on the spectrum myself. Someone in a caring job can be difficult for autistic people as we might not be able to tell (as well as a neurotypical) if the person likes us exclusively or is just doing their job. Even care workers are human and every so often will be attracted to a patient, but autistic people cant always work it out.
Problem here is that you could have checked this out with her directly while you were in hospital or leaving hospital.
Your friend says be confident and pursue people you are attracted to and face rejection. Thats fine but i think You would have had a much better chance face to face. Although your probably not, the other way makes you look shifty as fuck.
The younger generation dont know how good they have it nowadays, all they have to say is "Are you on facebook?" Back in my day you had to face full on rejection and ask for someones phone number.

Sorry man, while you had good intentions I can see why she'd be skeeved out. Most people would interpret that as stalking.
