Was Sanctioned Suicide better when there was no seperation of off-topic and Politics & Philosophy?

In all sections you can read about politics currently. It makes me nostalgic to the times when there was not this dedicated section. for politics.
I am not (fully) againist this seperate section. I know some people are really distressed and annoyed by politics.
But this does not stop me from ruminating. Good old times. Now when I think about it I think Trump was in office when this forum emerged. And when Biden came this fucked up seperation of off-topic and politics was implemented. Fuck Dems.

I noticed I posted something in politics Trump and suicide related in politics and barely anyone saw it. When I re-posted it in suicide discussion 601 clicked on it thus far. Interestingly, I have the feeling many people skip the politics section lately. Which is pretty ironic because the forum is full of Trump related discussions.

I think it's better that there is a separate section for politics. I remember when people used to post political threads in the suicide forum. People would argue all the time and the forum was disrupted with flame wars. Some people can take politics too seriously and get upset if someone else has a different viewpoint. It's better to have a separate section for political discussions. That way people can avoid them if it triggers them.
