  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Doubtful because Most people probably didn't live close to suitable jumping sites. Most buildings wouldn't be Tall enough for comfort in antiquity and populations tend to concentrate around low lying rivers and flood plains

I'm being slightly humorous when I say this, but in the time of antiquity disease, famine, and wild animals probably took people earlier in life. So while they couldn't ctb easily, they probably didn't have to wait for death for too long (compared to many people now who live into their 80s and 90s).

Reasonably though, if they lived near bodies of water and had low SI they could drown. Or just stab themselves if they had access to a blade.

Popular methods of suicide back in the day:

-Poisoning via Hemlock, Yew, or Nightshade
-Snakebite
-Jumping off the castle
-Ex-sanguination
-Standing behind a horse, give it a good spank, and have it kick your head off.

Hanging mostly.
Before you talk about how hanging doesnt work 100% of the time. There's a reason suicide rates were low along time ago... That and more people being religious
