i genuinely do want to cbt, but I'm scared of what comes after death. will i just be in an endless void for eternity? is there an afterlife? reincarnation? I'm impressed with people not being scared of the unknown. i dont see myself living any longer and i just want to be at peace, but i struggle because of my fear. every day I'm slowly losing my sanity. i just wanna end it all

what's your evidence?
All the science that shows what a human is. Neuroscience brain science, molecular cell biology, evolution Many more sciences , even the law of entropy proves it by itself

The law of entropy, all systems go from order to disorder. Each system Requires a constant power source to keep it temporarily functioning but disorder wins eventually. An animal , a car, the sun the universe all are becoming disordered and all will die

This is just a little bit. there's mountains of evidence from evolution , cell biolgoy , brain science ( i didn't put here. literally i could write a 10 volume book set expounding on the evidence and how it all fits together and some things you can test like for brain science looking in microscope etc.

Cell biology and evolution. almost all cells in a human are eukaryotic cells. For example the neuron in a human, fish, mouse, fly are exactly the same . a nerve cell is neuron. But a neuron is also a eurkaryotic cell. Every eukaryotic cell has hundreds of machines and process that are identical be it a nerve cell in a human, fish , fly , cat , mouse etc. This shows that all these cells and organisms descended from a single eukaryotic cell that evolved around 2 billion years ago. All these life forms including humans, single cell amoebas, dogs, chimpanzees, monkeys etc are called eukaryotes. a human has many trillions of these cells. These can be seen in the microscope . they all have a nuclues and the DNA is in the nucleus, organelles and many other identical processes. Any book on cell biology or even articles or videos on the internet show this . just some research on the internet about what a cell is and how it relates to humans , what I am...

All life descended from a single ancestor a single cell proof :

I understand your fear. Its natural.

Does it help to know that over 100 people are passing into the Void every minute of everyday?

My death will not be special. I am not more deserving of punishment than anyone else.

I believe the current person I am , with all my ridiculous hopes and fears will vanish...and if I am plucked back from the Void into another vessel that I will have no recollection of this life. I will be fully a different entity.

Would you care to share your current struggles?

Everyone faces it eventually, ctb or no. No point worrying about what comes after. (Though that's not to play down your anxiety about ending your existence, that's a big decision.)

But you're not going to be in an endless void for eternity, what would be the point of that from a creator's viewpoint?

You're a temporary character in an absurd creation. Possibly a fictional simulation. You may come back as another character after you die, or your TV may be switched off forever. Either way, no point worrying about it.

I hope that you find peace eventually, in my case I'm only scared of this hellish and cruel existence where there is no limit as to how much one can suffer. Death comforts me as I believe it to be nothing more than an eternal, dreamless sleep where all is finally forgotten about.

It's very likely that this world is just 4 dimensions we can directly sense out of more hidden dimensions. Identity (like the soul) is multidimensional. Death may be similar to having a hair cut (some localized physical change) It's something, but no big deal. People don't remember every hair cut they have.

I'm also admittedly scared of the unknowable beyond but at the same time it's inevitable and I just feel like there either has to be a reason why it's like this or
it really is just as meaningless as it comes like that's all I can think of rn.

An end with suffering > Suffering without an end

I've been studying biblical scripture for over 40 years. From all I've gathered during my studies and travels I've come to this conclusion. Stories of the afterlife were originally fabricated by governing council's for obedience, order and power. There is currently over 8.1 billion people living today. In 2023 alone, over 73 million babies were born and roughly 60 million people died. There's a preconceived notion that us, as individuals, are so important, that there in a place for us in the afterlife. Could you begin to fathom the population of the afterlife taking those 2023 numbers alone and tracing the birth and death rates back to the beginning of human existence? We are nothing. Our lives mean nothing to no one but ourselves. This is it. This was our one shot. Like King Solomon said, "the dead know nothing" and, "we all go to the same place. We were born from dust and to the dust we shall return."

It's not like any of us can avoid it. It's going to eventually happen regardless, so there is really no point of fearing it. At least CTBing gets us out of this shit existence early to see what lies beyond...if anything even does. The only way staying alive would be better than CTB is if the afterlife ends up being shittier than this one. I'll take my chances. I'm convinced that it's nothing. I guess we'll see...

How do you know?? Don't assume everyone doesn't believe in God! There is after life and day of judgment. We still say "we don't know"

We were brought from the void, regardless of what happens after. Regardless, the universe won't last forever

What do you want there to be when you pass away? Personally id like to think there is something who knows what but something other wise the suffering of life is pointless

The fact is that nobody--no person, religion, sect, science, etc--who has ever lived knows what happens after death. Anyone who claims they know is simply stating their belief, not a fact. This is because it is literally impossible to know.

One thing that helps me with my fear of death and the unknown is the thought that, since the beginning of humankind, billions of people have died before me and billions more will die after me. So when I die, no matter what does or doesn't happen after, I'll experience or won't experience the same thing as billions and billions of other people.
