  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Wondering about this as a possible way to ctb? Would you actually be able to just let yourself drown and then I guess there's the worry that someone will try and save you.

If I'm heavily intoxicated and fucked up on heroin, sounds like a nice way to go. Otherwise my SI will make me swim back to shore. Besides drowning is extremely painful, it hurts when water violently enter lungs.

Drowning is my method. But no, I won't just go into the sea... I'll do my best to pass out and then drown, whether it's a sea or lake...

That's one of my "dream"/"ideal" ways to ctb
But extremely drugged to not be able to fight too much
I'd do that at the middle of the night just to be less likely to be "saved"

Yeah, could be an option for me but like @siray said, I'd have to be off my face first before enterering the sea.

I just don't like the idea of any drowning methods because the SI can get in the way. Apparently it is an awful way to go.

No way in my case, I would be too afraid to try for sure. It's said to be painful, at least too painful for me. I doubt If i could overcome the SI.

It is one possible way - it has been done by others before, I remember seeing this story about a woman who did just that:

Personally, I couldn't ever do it because I find it too frightening.

Don't know where you are live.
In some places I'm aware of go for a swim when the sea is ebbing to low tide and you'll never be seen alive again..., no matter how strong a swimmer you are.

There's an amazing post somewhere on this forum written way back in 2019 or possibly 2018 in which a member details their experience attempting something similiar. Sadly I don't recall the user's name...

I hope someone who reads this might remember the user I am referring to and will share the post.

Growing up I lived by the sea and yes, you don't fuck around in the sea.
Where I lived it wasn't uncommon for people to die trying to swim when and where they shouldn't. I even lost a crush in high school to the sea (Jealous mermaids grr)

Sometimes being a skilled swimmer is not enough, you need to observe and understand the sea.

Wait for the occasion and it will be easy to get swallowed by it. Otherwise you can be under influence of drugs/alcohol and just go for it.

I think if your instincts kick in it can be very agonizing, but nowadays I envy a lot those who get to catch the boat :)

Apparently this is how my great grandfather killed himself when the Chinese Communist Party threatened to take his farm land just because he was successful and wealthy. If my SN doesn't work maybe I'll try this way too.

when water gets cold enough, wear a floating device, wait for the tide to go away from the shore. it won't take long before you pass out due to hypothermia, and it should be relatively painless.

If I do this I'd need to do it during the day so that my partner is at work and child at preschool. It would be too much of a risk to try and sneak out at night and it would be very frightening in the dark. I'd also need to find somewhere quite remote so I'm not seen.
