Every method runs the risk of serious damage if you fail.

This is death we are talking about here. Intentional physical destruction of one's own body.

Hanging - brain damage
Jumping - body damage
Pills - liver and/or kidney damage
CO - brain damage
Nitrogen/Argon/Helium - brain damage
Gun - brain damage
N - brain damage

Why would SN be any different?
If you abort it are found early enough then there is a good chance of minimal physical damage. However the psychological damage will be considerable - tubes in every orifice and probably a visit to the psych ward.

Every method has a timeline between aborting and damage. SN just has a longer one.

Whereas jumping, for example, has seemingly no damage if aborted however the timeline is pretty much non existent. One cannot jump then abort.

You can with SN though.

Want to alleviate the discomforting thoughts of damage if you fail?

1. Don't attempt. If you aren't deadset serious about following through then don't try. While in terms of damage it's minimal if aborted early, the hospital visit isn't going to be fun.

2. If you are serious then make damn sure you will succeed. Have backup to drink of you throw up, keep putting it in there. Its poison, enough of it will kill. Make sure you won't be found, you need a few hours alone to make sure. Make sure you won't freak out and call emergency when it gets uncomfortable. You might throw up. Your heart might beat faster in a disconcerting way. You might get a headache. You might feel other weird things before you pass out. This is death.

This is the same with every method. All have risks. None exist that don't. N is a great one to ideate about because it's so unavailable. Like my recent choice in women.

The reality his when you have within your reach all that is needed. Then the question comes: is this for real? Or an I just fantasising?

This is the best comment I've read on the whole site @GreyMonkey. Too many people fantasise or romanticise suicide but the shit gets very real the moment it turns from idealism to action. The other night when I got in the car with the hot coals, I realised I wasn't in Kansas anymore
