how bad is the withdrawal from venlafaxine
I am on 225

This medication made me so overweight and so many Moodswings.
My psychiatrist won't take me so I've decided to wean myself off

Has anybody had bad withdrawals from this drug?

My prescriptions are so expensive, so I'm just about done with meds

I took it for years and I didn't have any problem when I stopped it. I took 75mg in the morning but everyone is different so it's difficult to say.

I came off it cold turkey as it stopped me from sleeping - bad idea. I was very sick. I tapered down and I then absolutely fine with no withdrawals. Just don't jump off the dose. I think the Dr lowered my dose every 3 weeks and all was OK. Much better than jumping off! Good luck!

I have terrible discontinuation syndrome if I miss one dose of Effexor. Brain zaps, weird bodily feelings, pure hell. I currently take 150 mgs/daily.
I did wean myself off once. I was taking 300 mg/daily. It took about two months. I was off it for about a month before my anxiety came back so I restarted.
You can open the capsules and each day pour a little more out as you titrate down. And, extend the amount of time between doses as long as you can. Ofc, put the capsule back together then take it.
I "think" most of the capsules are probably extended release. If your Dr will prescribe the 100 mg tablet, it's easier to break those into fourths and its not extended release which I "think" it's easier to come off of.
As far I remember the price the 100 mg w/ the Good RX cards was just a couple of bucks. Cheaper than using my insurance. Also, the price can vary widely from one pharmacy to another. I use Kroger. Amazon pharmacy has a lot of generic meds for 5 bucks a month. You may want to check there.
Good Luck! It was not easy to titrate down until I did it slowly.

At the same dosage as you, I quit overnight, I wouldn't advise it. Was very uncomfortable. I didn't even link it to withdrawals at first I was so out of it.
I'd advise if you can, to drop 75mg maybe every 2 weeks for it to be completed smooth. That's minimum usual protocol.

I feel your pain. I got sooooo fucking fat on venlafaxine.

When I was on it I would get horrible withdrawal symptoms after 3 hours past my med time. Do yiy take just one pull? I was taking multiple smaller pills and could taper off very slowly. Iwikl way when I talked to my shrink about it, he had me taper over the course of only 7 days which made NO SENSE to me. I tapered myself over the course of 2 months.

I took desvenlafaxine and the withdrawal was bad, try reducing it little by little, really slowly (ik it's tedious). Some of the symptoms that I had were sensation of electric shock, feeling sleepy, getting really nervous

I've been on 225mg for years. As others have said tapering down is your best course of action if you want to be rid of them. I keep taking them because they don't cost me anything and they do probably help a little. But mostly I don't want to face the SUPERFLU that I feel coming on whenever I'm slightly late with a dose.
