So is using a gun pretty much only "effortless" way to CTB in USA? I've tried the car CO method twice but it was interrupted both times. I don't know if it would have been effective or not. I was passed out 20 years ago when they first found me and most recently a month ago, I was only there for 10 minutes before being found. The hospital said I had significant CO poisoning and put me on oxygen for several hours before they pink slipped me to an inpatient hospital. I'd much rather use the car, but if the gun is the only way without drugs, I need to accept that reality.
